If you can't make a farm tractor run then stick to antique gas tractors. I'm sick of listening to Conner and other antique builders complain about all the diesel tractors. LLSS needs a standard set of rules like 4.1s if you can't do that nobody cares what Mis South does or Badger State,MSTPA and any other organization. All different rules for the same class. Unless you're going to Blackbournes you won't make 2 hooks in a row anyway.

An Update From Center Grove Farms
Limited Prostock 4.1
NTPA Grand National
Plow Tractor 4.1 & Volunteer Deere

We want to address the fuel situation from Bowling Green and explain what happened as clearly as we can.

First and foremost, we want our fans, sponsors, friends, and fellow competitors to know one thing:

WE DID NOT INTENTIONALLY RUN ILLEGAL FUEL, AND WE DID NOT CHEAT.

Earlier this year, Scheid Diesel submitted samples of their fuel to NTPA for approval. We purchased and ran that fuel believing we were using a legal, approved product.

At some point after those samples were submitted, NTPA’s fuel-testing equipment was recalibrated. We were not aware of that change, and to our understanding, neither was Scheid Diesel.

At Bowling Green, our fuel tested 13.6 on NTPA’s tester. The legal limit is 13.4, meaning our fuel was 0.2 over the allowable limit.

Here’s the part we believe is extremely important:

A brand-new jug of fuel directly from Scheid Diesel tested the exact same 13.6 on NTPA’s tester. That test was performed in front of us and Kent Crowder.

In other words, the fuel in our tractor tested exactly the same as untouched fuel straight from the supplier.

For another comparison, that same fuel tested 137 on Scheid Diesel’s tester used for PPL competition, where the legal limit is 150.

We pleaded our case with Marvin, NTPA’s head tech official, and also spoke with NTPA executives. We explained that we purchased fuel from a reputable supplier that had previously submitted its fuel to NTPA, and that a brand-new jug tested exactly the same as what came out of our tractor.

We fully understand that according to NTPA’s current tester, the fuel was over their limit. We aren’t trying to hide from that fact.

The problem is that the tester NTPA uses cannot simply be purchased or duplicated by competitors or suppliers. Once Scheid had submitted its fuel for approval, they had every reason to believe that fuel remained compliant. If the testing equipment was later recalibrated and they weren’t made aware of it, how could Scheid—or a team purchasing its fuel—have known there was now a problem?

Unfortunately, the ruling stood.

Saturday afternoon’s session was eventually rained out, but because we had already been disqualified for the fuel violation, we also forfeited the 15 Grand National points we would have received for being there.

Those 15 points have had a major impact on our season.

We went into this situation #2 in the Grand National points race. We are now #5 and 25 points behind the leader. Realistically, that puts us essentially out of contention for the overall Grand National championship.

That’s a difficult way to see a season change after everything this team has put into it.

We don’t know how every fan or fellow competitor will view the situation. We understand that rules have to exist and that they have to be enforced.

But we also want people to know the entire story.

We did not alter our fuel. We did not knowingly run illegal fuel. We did not try to gain an advantage.

We bought fuel from Scheid Diesel believing it was legal. The fuel taken from our tractor tested exactly the same as a brand-new jug from Scheid.

We can accept a ruling without accepting the idea that our team intentionally cheated.

For every team competing with NTPA, we strongly encourage you to have your fuel checked before you hook to the sled. Don’t assume that because your fuel has been approved or has passed previously that it will necessarily pass the tester being used today.

Scheid Diesel will also be releasing an official statement of their own in the coming days regarding the situation.

As for us, we’re going to do what we’ve done all year.

We’re going pulling.

We’ll be in Sandwich, Illinois, this weekend to finish our Grand National season. We’re going to unload the Plow Tractor 4.1, compete the right way, and finish what we started.

To everyone who has supported Center Grove Farms this season—our family, crew, sponsors, fans, and fellow pullers—thank you.

This isn’t how we wanted the championship race to end, but we’re proud of our team, we’re proud of our season, and we’re going to finish it with our heads held high.

See y’all in Sandwich.

I have a 3-cylinder Kubota (D722), I'm guessing less than 20hrs, that is currently an APU (Auxiliary Power Unit), it has an AC system, charging system, cooling package, computer to run everything. Or it could be disassembled and used for a pulling engine. I have pictures to send, just send a message and I'll get back with you.
