The Fendt High Stakes Series. The plus and minus (1 reply)

The PPL/ IHRA Fendt Series has so many great features, first and foremost is the increased purse money. Other the Simon's event last year the Fendt Series is certainly one of, if not the best paying series ever. And the certainty that almost all, if not all of the competitors will be there. And so far PPL has shown the rest of the pulling world (NTPA please note) how to run a fast paced show. And the live stream is second to none, top quality. The announcing have been well informed and entertaining. Now the minus side. I never have liked the tracks that PPL has built over the years, to much dirt flying between the vehicle and the sled, from a visual standpoint it adds nothing to the show and diminishs the fans experience. Maybe some how its designed to show speed and power. Well guess what it doesn't. Ang one thing I enjoy is seeing different vehicle show up other than the regular pullers that we get to see. ( NFMS is great in bringing in the best from all around the country) . And while I enjoy the classes that they run I'm not sure if those would have been first choice. Overall, if nothing else the PPL/IHRA Series has generated talk and intrigue.

Was the next Fendt Tour pull supposed to be August 7-8 at National Trail near Columbus?
The link showing their schedule does not list the pull.
Someone please verify when/where the next Fendt Tour pull is. Thanks.

Congratulations to the Missouri State Tractor Pullers Association on 60 years of pulling 1966 thru 2026..I think its the oldest pulling group in Missouri...Counting everything from garden tractors and antiques on up there has to be at least 25 plus pulling associations spread over the entire state...I have pulled with MSTPA and they are a great bunch of pullers.

In the early days I was a MSTPA associate member for quite a few years..That was the only way that you could find out where all the pulls were at..At that time I was also a associate member of other pulling groups in Missouri,Kansas and Illinois..About 15 years ago I threw away at least 300 old pull flyers from these groups.

Most years MSTPA has at least 25 pulls located mostly in western Missouri, eastern Kansas, and one in SE Nebraska...Their most recent pull was held on July 11th at Garnett,Kansas..If I counted right Garnett had 9 classes with 53 hooks...As usual some pullers were missing so there could have been well over 60 hooks...One note of interest was that one of their youngest pullers (a recent HS graduate) hooked 3 times at Garnett...She pulled her 10,500 lb Hot Stock John Deere, then hooked a friends 9,000 lb IH Pro Field, and later hooked another friends Ford 6200 lb Pro Stock truck..Her Dad pulled a 6,000 Pro Field Oliver which she has driven several times...Earlier this year she pulled a friends 12,000 lb Hot Stock IH at Gordyville in the 15 mph class.

Ok just hearing MI pullers are controlling the updates on the new turbo changes coming down the pipe. I know they carry a bunch of tractors but wtf heard so many negative things over so many years about the 3/3 and now they are voting to keep it and changing back to the smooth?? Like limit it to one turbo shop nice. I heard about going with are size 3.6/4 now we have to change to a 3/3 smooth wtf what are they doing? Lmao I’m so confused with MI thinking

The attached video is misnamed. The IH does not hit the barrier, but the sled might have.
Understanding there are all sorts of variations of different pull sites, is there a rule for how far away from the sideline safety barriers need to be?

Imo, the sideline should not be within a foot or two of the cement/concrete or guardrail if at a racetrack. There should be a reasonable margin for a tractor to go out of bounds so that a chalk line DQ doesn't also include a repair bill for the vehicle or the sled. There are rules for track width and length, runoff, etc. Is there also a rule for side out of bounds runoff? What is a reasonable safe distance between sideline and barrier?
