Hi everyone.

I just wanted to let you know that I have started a pulling podcast called 'Out of Bounds with Kevin Holmes'. It is about truck and tractor pulling in Ontario, Canada, and the great people that are involved in our sport here in this province. I launched the first episode on YouTube last week. I have a lot to learn about podcasting, lol, but I have had a lot of fun with this first episode. Here is a link to the first episode. [www.youtube.com]. You can follow us on Facebook and Instagram as well. Thank you for watching, and thank you to the Morgans for the space!

Mackville/Seymour Announcers (1 reply)

We have talked about it before but wondering how many on here were at Mackville aka Seymour this weekend and there thoughts on the difference in Announcing. You had to be there to hear it, if you did Full Pull Live you missed it when they turned the cameras out for the second half of the show. I am after the thoughts on the announcers. 2 different groups 5 different announcers and 3 very different ways to announce. Curious what people think was better. Yes I put Jason in his own separate category for announcing, his style is way different from who he was working with and different from the Badger State guys in his own way. Yes sometimes annoying but I think he did a great job filling the void in the rain delay and dead spots, he kept people interested. I AM IN NO WAY COMPLAINING ABOUT ANY OF THE ANNOUNCERS JUST POINTING OUT THE MAJOR DIFFERENCES LAST WEEKEND, THIS IS NOT A BASH ONE GROUP OR THE OTHER THREAD. I am curious what the casual fan or first time spectator thought with the very obvious difference in announcing and not so obvious organization change around the dash for cash.

For those who missed it here is my 2 cents
Dan and Charles, prim and proper Tv style announcing. Great history and background very little knowledge about wrenching on a pulling vehicle or mechanical workings of one. Not great in my opinion at explaining what really broke, failed, or fell apart on the track. Very little excitement when something happened, interacted with each other, but not in a we are having fun and best buddies way. Not every failure in the mini rod class was a ignition problem for those that did not actually know. Also got confused with line up changes or mechanical drop outs when a different vehicle came out, relied heavily on paper line ups and notes.

Jason, more up beat a little all over the place red neck mentality but involved the crowd young and old. Can fill empty air with something very quickly, maybe not something interesting or enlightening but fills the space. Doesn't really talk mechanical or breakage other than than everything is awesome!

Stacey and Jon, great history and back ground and interaction with each other fun to listen to go back and forth together. More up beat and talked like they were having fun not like they were getting paid to do a job. Both have on track experience and the mechanical background to explain what happened. Knew what was going on all the time including what happened or didn't happen on the track. Can get excited and get the crowd excited over something small. Also never heard them get confused over a line up change or mechanical drop did not fully rely on notes or paper line ups.

Fendt High Stakes Series, is this the future of pulling? (6 replies)

It would be great if the FHSS could be the model for all of pulling. The series is everything that pulling should and can be. High payouts ( before someone points out that it's really a buy in event I am fully aware of that ) , Limited number of entries and events, there is almost a guarantee of the vehicles showing up, and great live stream. From what I understand that even if you finished last at every event you would not lose much entry money. It would be interesting if both NTPA and PPL along with Outlaws could do this type of event under one umbrella. In someway both NFMS and Bowling Green have pullers from several organizations that allows fans to see vehicles from different organizations. My vision would be 8 classes with between 10 and 20 entries per class. I certainly would have PS, Mods, Mini's, TWD, DSS trucks, Light Mods, 4.1 PS, and SS Combo class.

ppl has got to slow down and make sure the tracks are in the best condition for these fendt high stakes pulls.... seems they too worried about the pace of the show. saturday night in farley they should have skuffed the tracks 10 more times to free it up. minis and sf couldnt get going at the start of the show. and some had to make 2 passes and thats not what anyone wants to do. even the announcers said "i think we are building a road" several times. these pulls are for big $$ and everyone has spent tons to make sure they look and run good. tracks have been mediocre at best. take friday night out because of the rain. the best track the series will probably see. the next 3 high stakes arent going to be any better, benson = loose hebron=new track, milan=new tracks.. a class of local farm tractors should run first to groom the tracks in

I have an Oliver 1855 that I removed factory brake valve from, used wilwood high volume 1" bore master cylinders. I tied into factory brake lines and using factory piston brake assembly. At first they worked pretty good, my issue now, is I cannot keep these things bled. I can bleed them, get good pedal and good brakes, then not even 5 minutes later they're soft. I can pump them like 20 times and they'll come back but this is frustrating, especially when getting close to pulling time.

I have had to rebuild these master cylinders and unsure if maybe I cut something or have another issue. Anyone else had issues with their wilwood masters losing prime? Anyone have suggestions of things to look for? Maybe worth just buying 2 new masters and starting over?

The Whitewright,Texas pull had been held there for 49 straight years..It had lost money for the past two years and no one wanted to take it over...Plus I think the acreage where the track was located had been sold..

Long time Whitewright pulling fans and fairly new Outlaw 5.0 pullers, the Wegers from Colbert,OK decided to save it and move it to their turf farm located just 30 miles away..People are already accusing them of stealing the Whitewright pull away when they didnt..If it wasnt for them it was gone..

To half way make this work they are charging $40 for adults,$20 for kids ages 7-15,and kids 6 and under will get in free...From some of the comments you would think that the world was going to end because of these prices..I like pulling so much that I often hand the ticket sellers $20 when a small pull is only charging $10-15 to get in...I tell them to keep the change as I know they are often struggling to make any money...I also help sponsor several local pulls..I'm fortunate to have done well in life..

I dont think that people realize what a national level pull costs to put on..This will be a two track Outlaw Pull with 9 classes each night..To draw lots of pullers they are giving each class winner a Henry Golden Boy Custom Rifle for both nights..They are also having several feeds for them...Its a long ways to Texas for lots of the pullers.

Just the bleacher rental alone for 4,000 seats is up towards 100K..To buy those bleachers would be over 1 million dollars. They had to move lots of dirt just to build the tracks...Even if they get 3,000 people each night they probably wont break even? For $40 admission there will also be a huge fireworks show each night,a live band, lots of give aways for the kids-etc..Some are also whining about the cost of food at this pull...Well,they just need to eat before going to the pull...

The most I have ever paid was $25 to get in to a pull..I have paid far more for a NHRA drag race and a MLB game...It wouldnt bother me any to pay $40 to help save this pull...I have gone to state fair pulls where by the time I paid parking, gate admission, spectator admission I guess I had over $40 in a ticket. The question is will people support this pull or stay away?I guess we will know the answer on June 26,27th.

Moderators,if the comments get out of hand just delete this topic.Thanks..

I’m building a Stroker ag 360 to replace my dt360 in my f350. I have a set of triple valve springs and push rods for my dt360 but the part numbers are different from ag to truck(not surprised)

I’m currently in Japan and I won’t be back for a long time but I’m wanting to get ahead by buying parts so when I am home I can immediately get to work.

I am aware of most other differences.

I need to get dimensions of the pushrods for both to see if there’s a way to use mine or I can buy new ones from Carson Stauffer or someone else to match my springs.

Also, you pullers. With your 360s and 466s. I snapped my rocker shaft but I’m. It sure if it’s from the spring pressure or from the rocker contacting my keeper. Have you ever broken a stock shaft from pressure alone? These are stupid stiff and I got them to withstand 66/80 compounds so it’s at 100 psi

VERY disappointed with the livestream for session 1 of Farley. 1) leaderboards and distances are hard to read and 2) stayed up till 2AM to watch the super farm class, and they completely miss Jacob St Mary's run, and barely saw 2 previous tractors. I mean cmon, if everybody is gonna keep bloating about it being free, sometimes I feel even free is too expensive for the quality.
