Weather. This is probably the hottest topic. I will start by saying, I feel there are some events that could put in more effort to host an event even when some weather happens. I have also been told by multiple pullers the Made's does an amazing job with this. I feel there are probably some things we could learn from them. However, you can not control the weather. And you can't ignore the forecast. If it's raining on a Friday morning and the forecast says it is going to rain all weekend, I understand when an event gets canceled. If they cancel it days ahead so pullers don't travel, I get it. People keep making comments like "A puller drove xyz to get there. They should be able to run" Then don't get mad when they do cancel it days in advance so those guys don't make the drive. I myself have driven to events that I was pretty sure was going to get rained out, and then do. It's my choice to make the drive. No one is forcing me to do it. Most pullers do understand that weather can always affect a pull. The other thing everyone needs to understand is that it's not just about the track. At most events, you have a lot of haulers and equipment in the pits. Not every venue can handle the water in the pits. They may be able to cover the track and have that ready, but the pits and spectator parking could be crap. And personally, I DON'T NEED MY TRUCK, TRAILER, and TRACTOR FULL OF MUD. So, sorry, I get it when it gets called for weather.

Rain dates. These are a No Go in my opinion. If one is advertised, okay. But this has so many ways to fail, I don't like it. The rain date would pretty much have to be the following day to have any chance at working. You can not have a rain date for a different weekend for GN, PPL or Outlaw pull. Schedules are out in the spring and that is it. If you would have a 2nd weekend as a rain date, then the pullers have to keep both weekends open to run. If you a 8 events to run on a schedule and they listed a rain date weekend for every one, that would be 16 dates you would need to have open. It's not realistic. And then what if the rain date gets rained out? Do you pick a rain date for the rain date? As for a Sunday rain date, if the pullers, promoter, and organization are good with it, then okay. But everyone needs to be on board with it. Not just one group. Plus, a lot of events are part of a different event, like a fair. You move weekends, their fair is done. You try to move to the following day, they already have events scheduled.

Sunday pulls. If it is a NTPA, PPL, Outlaw type of event, this is a no-go for me. You do not put these events on a Sunday. Yes there may be an exception like if Monday is a holiday. But I do not think the top organizations should have events on Sunday. That is the time for the pullers to head home. For the venues to clean up. For things to get put away. And I would bet if you ask pullers, they would agree. Most probably have jobs they have to get back to. If it's a brush pull, a lower organization, and antique pull, etc then fine, go ahead and have your pull on Sunday. But the top organizations should not be on Sundays. there is just too many other things going on.

And my last thing. The one thing no one seams to care about and is the thing we should be caring about the most, IS THE FANS!!! Most people in this chat room should mean nothing to someone hosting an event. We want what WE want. People on here are not the "average" fan. We get in arguments over rules. We complain about an event because we have attended 20 this year. We can tell you when a new GN Prostock made its debut. We are not the average fan. The average fan hits a couple events a year, maybe. So actually think about this. Does the average fan want to sit at a rain delay? Does the average fan want their vehicle stuck in the mud at an event? Does the average fan want to go on Sunday? Does the average fan want a rain date? As for the rest of us that are huge fans and love this sport. No air, fuel, manifolds, or accessories. Long-block only: “Valve cover to oil pan”. $11,500 – Strong running engine. Ran with a data logger, and assembled with good parts from Riverside and others. The engine is still in the tractor. Interested buyers can come see/hear it run. Also can send videos of it running 7th and 8th gear. No issues with it. Only selling to change classes for next season.
