I was a fan of the double stuff unlimited and was hoping it would work as I thought it could really shake up the class. Obviously it wasn’t around long, but I liked the idea of it. Could a guy throw 2 or 3 diesel pro or super stock 4x4 motors in an unlimited? Why or why not? Just curious. A few years ago he converted one of the engines to turn in opposed direction, to get rid of chassis twist and COG movement during the pull.
It helped alot at this aspect, since before that he frequently threw tires off the rim due to highwheeling.
But a thing that still seems hard to handle is the absence of power across the first dozens of feet.
And furthermore when the boost then suddenly kicks in, the increase of power is absolutely brutal.
So he is forced to screw down the draw bar to prevent that the front end will be thrown up sky high beyond the 80-100ft mark.
Maybe he would be happier with just one of these chunks in the 5500lbs mod.
