I am doing the same thing that you are and a friend has done it. I know that you have to use 1066 or 1466 framerails and the stock castiron under the radiator or make it from metal to be lighter if you can. the 66series frame rails will stick out about 2inches at the 806 tranny where they meet but it will bolt up.

You can use the existing 806 framerails, but you'll end up doing some modifying to the framerail itself, where the front cover of the engine meets the frame. I know of both a 806 and 706 that are this way, they both use the 06 framerails & front bolster. I don't know which rear engine plate they're using, and whether the engines had the wide front timing covers for tractors, or the narrow front covers used in some 2+2's & combines, but I'd guess they were the wide front covers.

Can use a 1066 rear cover with the stock 806 frame rails. All you have to do is grind the extra off that protruds out if you don't want the extra sticking out. If you use a frount cover off a 686 with the 300 series motor it will fit right between the frame rails. If you want to make it easy you can find a set of frame rails off of a 806 gas as they are longer. Then find a frount hood off of a 12 or 1456 as they are also longer and then the exhaust hole should also line up. The only other thing you have to do is shorten the fan spacer.

the tractor started out being a 706, but i found some 806 gas frame rails for. i noticed they were longer when i got them. i know where there is a 2+2 being parted out not to far from me and i just wanted to make sure i could use the front and rear engine covers off of there.

It will fit in the stock frame length just fine. You actually have to shorten the frame rails a little to make up for the different thickness of rear mounting plates if you leave the front bolster in the orinigal place. All seems to fit nicely. Use a cement saw with a chop saw blade to cut bolster in the correct spot. If you run a big turbo have fun getting it under the hood, not near as much room as a 66 series.
