JD 4030 Wet clutch or dry?? December 19, 2011 02:29PM
Thinking of a light JD puller, Is it better to start with a 4020 diff and trans than a 4030? I assume that the transmission is very similar. I found a 4030 no cab or rops., has just the syncro 8 speed trans, priced reasonably. Wondering if it has a wet clutch like all of the bigger 30 series JDs.

Better look at your common parts like shifters and some gears. Common to 2510,2520,3020,4030. call a dealership and they will tell you that.

careful on the 4030, they have an odd bolt pattern on the bell housing, engine parts could be hard to find.
