466 in a 4020 frame January 08, 2009 02:50AM
How do you get a 466 into a 4020 frame or do you have to put different frame rails on it?

ive seen it done without much trouble, you have to be creative though. you can use the same frame rails on an early 466 engine but the late ones have a slightly different bolt pattern on the sides of the block and use bigger bolts. i put a late 466 in my 4240 and i had to bore the frame holes bigger and i was only able to get 4 out of the 8 front bolts in. there wont be much room for the turbo if you plan to run with one. good luck
