Exhaust Housing for S300

Looking at going to a "box" S300 turbo with the 2.36 inducer (60mm). It appears that there are 0.88, 0.91, and 1.00 A/R exhaust housings available for this turbo. Which of these would be the best place to start on a 466 IH at 3000 rpm, with a good Model 100 pump, and decent head and cam? I realize there are a lot of variables here, but just interested to hear peoples experience. |

Ian, I would try the stock one that comes on the turbo. Then you could try swapping a housing if you feel it needs something different. |

You make a good point Ed. From what I can tell, this S300 is only available from the factory with the 0.91 housing, and if I want something different I have to buy it separately. Might as well save the money unless I know it's not what I want. |

Stupid question but with a "box" turbo rule shouldn't the exhaust housing be specified in the rules or could you have the choice of any available housing for that specific turbo? Just curious. |

I believe there are different exhaust housings available and all are stock. Just depends which application they are used for. Generally with a box turbo you can pick what exhaust housing you want. Example. GT42, you can get with 1.28 or a 1.15 (among others) but both would be legal. |
