The one thing no class sould ever do outside of atiques is put a speed limit on a class. They just plain suck to watch and proves nothing. |

We started a new class in northeast wisconsin using a digital speed board. I thought it went over very well the first year with pullers and spectators. hopefully going to be a points class for 2013. nice thing it elminates alot of teching of tractors |

I thought south central pullers is going to make a set of rules for the class. Heard talks of a restrictor pipe in the front of the turbo. |

just wondering about intercoolers and pumps mainly,is everyone ok with them, need rpm sensor mandatory |

I think intercoolers should be allowed since I see several tractors with them on but I also think it should be icewater. |

Mark as far as what are you talking about like all the brush pulls or what? I thought the speed limits worked pretty good, we pulled at 15 and 18 between Potosi, Cuba and Platteville and thought it worked out well and put on a good show. Whats your ideas on things? |

most of us like the class just the way it is at 3000rpm and 15 or 18mph from what I hear. |

thats just it there is no turbo, tire, pump, only thing that is a rule is 3000rpm and a different speed usally. nothing in writing |

easy

just make it the same rules as new south central new class. Get together with luety and kessnick. then there is less b*tching becasue there are so many differen sets of rules. |

I dont like having speed limits cuz the not every tractor can get a gear to the 15 range but can only go as low as say 16 or 17. I like the restrictor plate idea without intercooler would be the best. Like nascar the plate makes it even throughout the entire class. |

My gear is 18 mph WOT we could run in the 15 mph class. Ok so what are you gonna tell the guys that are over cubed? Go find another place to pull? I'm not saying the speed boards perfect, it busted us at Platteville, but its an equalizer that is the cheapest way of making a variety of tractors compete together without teching anymore than RPMs (which carries its own problems). |

If a guy changes up the speed at different places it kinda mixes it up a bit so nobody has the advantage. |

As a promoter I like to hear what everyone thinks about what we are doing or what we should do. Personally i have spoken with a few sources to get further ideas for this class. I have heard positive things and negative about what we have been doing so far. As far as the speed limit situation i guess i can be guilty of being one of the first to inspire it into the class. I have had my A$$ chewed a few times by people that don't like it, but i have had far more positive feedback about having it so no tractor blows everyone away by 30 ft. I will say the greater the speed the more the class spreads out though.
Examples - Cuba City 15MPH - top 10 tractors 299ft-278 ft / complete class 299ft-251ft. Potosi 18MPH - Top 10 - 321ft-277ft / Complete class 321ft-252ft. Mineral Point 16mph Class - Top 10 - 306ft-280ft / Complete class 306ft-272ft, Second class open speed - 337ft - 253ft. Platteville 15MPH class - 287ft-269ft I'm not saying that anything about what were doing is right. I personally feel that a few safety measures need to be taken for this class. Minimum changes in my mind would be - wheely bars, air shut off, Cross bolts in exhaust pipe. Would love to see flywheels but understand some don't like the cost! Furthermore I feel that an old blanket would not be a far stretch along with a rpm pick up. Just my 2 cents Brian Mueller (608)732-0653 |

RPM pick-up is pointless when you can buy a diode to make them stop reading at 3000RPM. |

You know from first hand experiece? Leave wire exposed no hidden connections. |

I will second that one!! Simple if able to see all the wire, unable to mess with wire. RPM pick up is the only way to truly check RPMs |
Re: SW Wisconsin 2hot2 farm rules

Not to mention at Cuba the top four was within four feet, and Platteville was very similar. |
