466 in 4020
|
I have several questions re. fitting a 466 in a 4010. I ran the 404 block last year in 3000 rpm class and warped the block. Going to step up to 466 block this year. I have a double disk clutch and flywheel for the 404, is there any 466 crank that this flywheel will bolt on? Also, is there any block casting # I should be looking for (A pump mounts), that would be more suitable than others? |

If you go to a 466 (there are several on this site) you will want to go to a later engine with the crank driven oil pump. I think the 466 cranks may have 1 or 2 more holes than the 404. This also depends on what clutch setup you go with. Some aftermarket ones require an 8 bolt pattern with larger holes, which if this is the case, you'll have to have it drilled and tapped. Where are you located? |
