We make pulling gears to put in place of your old 5th and 8th gear. If you change the fifth you have to machine the old 5th gear off of the countershaft and triple key the new gear to the shaft. If you change 8th, you will loose all low range gears but for pulling that is usually not a problem. One set of gears is $600.00 If you want to do both 5th and 8th it would be $1200.00 plus another $100.00 to machine off the old 5th gear and key the shaft. You have to install or we could install for an extra charge. We are in Salem, Ohio 330 537 4203 |

Where?

Where does a guy get these industrial finals? What do they come off of? Does it work with the big axle (77mm late '76 and all '77 models)? Any part numbers? |

The original ratio of a 5010 and a 5020 is as follows. A 6030 may be a little different but I don't know the exact tooth count on a 6030.
7th 37.8:1 8th 23.2:1 7th with fast planetaries 25.4:1 8th with fast planetaries 15.6:1 The 7th gear on the countershaft has 28 teeth The 8th gear on the counter has 36 teeth I can make the new gears have any tooth count between 28 and 37 The fast planetaries were used on 5010 earth moving pans and possibly other industrial equipment. |

THE 6030 is a little diffrent tooth count. a 5010 and 5020 run a 36t-26t gear combo.722 overdrive for 8th and a 6030 runs a 49t-35t gear combo .714 overdrive. also I baelieve a 5010 and 5020 run an11/58 Ring and pinion 5.272 and the 6030 runs a 11/54 ring and pinion for 4.909
so a 5020 stock 8th comes out 23.2 and the 6030 stock 8th is 21.32 |

KTA, thanks for the information. I have never made a gear for a true 6030 so I didn't know the exact tooth counts.
Would you happen to know the tooth counts for the high range pinion and for 7th gear (counter and pinion) for a 6030? |

High pinion and counter and thus the range gear are the same tooth counts for all big frame Deere's. in this case the final would be different because of different R&P counts, but transmission ratios would be the same. |

I thought the 6030 was a 23.3 ratio in 8th? what would it be with Industrial finals with a 7-5/8 ratio in the 5 th slot. I know one with this set up,trying to get enough Turbo behind it for next year. Is this harder on the transmission than speeding it up with different gears and stock finals? |

Going by KTA s tooth count on the ring and pinion of a 6030, the 7 5/8 gear in a 6030 with fast planetaries would have a ratio of 17.6:1 |

My most recent post is correct, that ratio from a year ago was before I found out they had different tooth count r&p. Forget the industrial finals they will just end up wrecking your trans. Build more power and just run road, tons of 6030 farm stocks run road gear. |

We have a yellow 5020 rear end and trans. What is the final ratio for 7th gear and 8th gear compared to an ag rear end and trans. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/16/2018 06:58AM by jd6850. |

JD6850 - If it's just a 5020 with a yellow paint job, It is the same as an AG "Green" 5010/5020 tractor unless it is a scraper pan tractor - 760 or 5010-I models. The Yellow 700 and 700 Series-A tractors were the same as a green 5010 and 5020. With exception of a few quirks - Hydraulic assist clutch, true bareback configuration/option, and other things as you dive into them further. Post the S/N and I can double check for ya |
