Can anyone tell me does a 8.1 have the high top ring on the piston or is it like the older 466 pistons with the lower ring

If you want a low ring piston use a 55 series its the same thing

Same bore stroke is 4.75 on a 466. On a 8.1 the stroke is just over 5 inches. If I remember right the wrist pin height is the same.

OK I have pistons that r already cut that r out of a 466 so I should be able to use those right but not the sleeves

If stroke is longer on the 8.1 and wrists pin is at the same spot on the 2 pistons won't that make the stroke longer and put piston into the head

Yes I just took a look at some of the pistons I had had used in the past. We used a 466 piston but we machined the top of the piston off.

That's what I was afraid of what's the best thing to do with a 8.1 just go straight to a 4.75 kit
