Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 02, 2014 10:06AM
What determines the difference between boost and the exhaust pressures thanks

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 02, 2014 11:45AM
Lots,be more specific.

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 02, 2014 11:56AM
My 3000rpm tractor always runs 8 to 12 pounds more exhaust pressure than boost cam at 96 degrees gt turbo heads flows 250 valves set at 12 ,14 fuel at 700 water 36 ounces exhaust temp 1520-1580

Buy a Hart's or Precision and you won't have that problem.

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 02, 2014 12:57PM
what are your pressures,I prefer my exhaust to be a little higher than intake.

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 02, 2014 01:44PM
Boost 65 exhaust 55 gt42 and the precision I have does the same pressures

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 04, 2014 01:11PM
what engine and manifolds? are you snuffing the turbo out?

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 05, 2014 01:05AM
Sounds to like your spring pressure on your head isn't enough????
Is it a stock head??
If you don't have enough spring pressure
Boost will just push the valve open and you
Will never gain on it. Just a thought

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 05, 2014 02:58AM
I had the same problem , get you a hx60 and your boost will go way up

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 05, 2014 03:29AM
What kinds spring pressure should a person run for a 3k rpm.

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 07, 2014 12:56PM
What are your pressure's again? you said the exhaust runs higher but then you said boost was 65 and exh. was 55.

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 04, 2014 02:54PM
What exhaust housing on the GT? 115 probably or bigger?

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures February 05, 2014 11:52AM
101 Garett spring pressure 175 what kind exhaust housing for the hx60 at 3000 rpm can I run

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 10:32AM
If both turbos running the same boost , the turbo may not be your problem I would contact my engine builder

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 11:14AM
If your boost is 65 and your ex is 55 I don't se how you make it down the track without chirping some, If its the opposite you need a bigger ex housing .And harts.precision hx60 don't mean nothing if its not matched to your eng the cam plays A big part

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 11:40AM
Spring pressure 175,,is that at max lift or seated.

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 12:41PM
Seat pressure

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 12:51PM
What is should the spring pressure be for plus head stock 466 3000 rpm thanks

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 01:19PM
Ok well spring pressure is not your problem. That's actually a lot for your rig, what is open pressure? do you have heavy push rods that are not deflecting.

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 01:24PM
Have chromoly push rods and roller cam from Eddie Ingram

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 01:37PM
ok what size turbo in-out

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 01:56PM
3x3 gt42 journal bearing 1.01 housing

Re: Boost pressures and exhaust presssures March 02, 2014 02:27PM
Everything sounds good, put a tighter ex housing on and have fun.640 SF run a 3x3 so tighten up your ex. and you will be fine
