PPL running the NFMS????? March 04, 2014 09:25AM
I was talking to a friend and he heard that PPL was going to run the NFMS and have there championship tour classes and also they want to have a 4.1 class and a state level Mod class. They are going to bring in there state winners and let them run with the LSS, SF, PS and TWD and FWD classes. Heard they are going to run only 2 sessions of PS's to get into the Saturday night show.

How about adding a couple twd trucks to the thurs night show and cut the second night they are too loud for freedom hall a lot of people go out in the hall because of the noise they seem to be even louder than the 4 engine mods keep all the pro stocks and maybe add a 4'1 class or something else pro farm light diesel super. Maybe drop the fwd trucks they are really having a tough time there and add two new classes

Sounds like another truck hater. Some biggest crown loser was a pro stick class a super farm. Crowd stayed for the twd's. They get rid of trucks I will never be back. To many tractor classes as there is.

Too loud ? Get a clue. Nobody wants to watch the 2wd class that's why everyone leaves the stands. Get rid of them and as long as we're at it the 4wd class as half of them break down and it takes too long to run the class.

Nobody wants to watch the 2wd,really? I for one want to watch them as well as a lot of my friends,so don't speak with such certainty about what other people want to watch. I don't pretend to know what you want to watch so don't pretend to know what I want to watch.

i dont understand whats wrong with 680 not just to many years ago red was still winning and it was fine but now someone has the green running strong and you red guys think its bad i still remember the 80s when it was a all red show and we had to live with it and there are some strong running red ones out there besides i believe cope won last year. as for the twd and the mods even the ulss sitting in the upper deck the fumes do get a bit much indoor pulls are not for open headers and alcohol.

It's not that no one wants to watch trucks but if you do I don't know why you would go to nfms. I went 10 years ago and sat there for every session to only see one class of 4x4's and two classes of two and mod tractors and that was when they had the good 4x4's. It was ok but not worth wading thru all the grease burners just to see a few good classes. The light supers a good also but soon after that they did away with them also. I haven't been back and I doubt they will ever bring in enough non turbocharged classes to get me to go back. I doubt that I'm alone in this view.

Well me and a lot of my friends will stay and watch them. I'm not sure why everyone is so sure that no-one wants to watch these classes. I'm not a big fan of the SF class so does that mean that no-one likes them,no it doesn't and I'm not narrow minded enough to think that. I understand that it is the "FARM SHOW" and is attended by mostly farmers but some farmers like the noise classes wheather some of you believe it or not.

The sad thing here is with the trucks pulling, the classes most people want to watch cant like the 4.1, light pro, llss etc. Pull the trucks when the truck show comes to town and they can pull the semis with the 2wd and 4wd trucks

You have to have a blend of tractors to trucks. A local NTPA around were I live got the idea put in there head that needs to be a tractor only pull. They did had PS, Ssd, and SF. The pull lasted only a few more years because there crowd fell to nothing. A good promoter has a blend of trucks and tractors. Even some.of the all diesel pulls at least have trucks. Not my cup of tea but it works. The younger crowd who is the biggest attendees of most pulls like trucks so you have to keep them happy.

There hasn't been anything viable besides red, green, and the v-8's for a decade. However this year there will be more color than ever in the pro class. Best of all it will come from a color that would never be in the pro class otherwise.

Doesn't Richwine check all the fuel and water at NFMS for the top finishers ? Don't really see how this would be a beat down on any other organization. Seems to me that Richwine and Mears are employees of the Farm Show during that weekend. So........I guess you blame Bowling Green if starting flagman shuts you down because Mike Ott is the President of the BG Blue Shirts. Comon' man !!! NFMS does a great job of bringing all the powers that be together in my eyes.

heard they bout didnt have a show this year cause of insurance reasons...didnt have any policy till a few days before the pull....if ppl does it will be better to get insurance

Sorry to insult some, but this thread is hard to believe.I have a customer that farms 4000+ acres,runs more than 2000 head of cattle every year and loves every aspect of pulling! As a matter of fact he owns 2 pulling tractors and they are both antiques.

No Minnie Moes in Pro Stock?What about Fools Gold in Ohio?G1000 on Gasoline and runs strong.There was another,I think,called Pro-Pain.Yes,ran on propane.I believe it was a G1000 also.
