ConfusedAngry My Opinion- Let STOP bashing the promoters!Thumbs DownAngry March 16, 2009 01:11AM
Jake and I were not able to attend Cloverdale so I can not comment on the event, however I can comment on the other events that Klint & Co have promoted and I can state unequivocally that they are well run, cover a multitude of classes that never get the chance to hook indoors and are by and large some of the most interesting and fun events that Jake and I go to.

I also am amazed and appalled that people don’t want Klint and other promoters to make a PROFIT on their events. For the life of me I don’t understand why a promoter would want to put time, money and a whole lot of work into an event and not make money. Do you think the sponsors that pay some of the bills for tractor pulling don’t want to promoter to be successful? Do you think the pullers want the promoter to not make any money and fail, wakeup the promoters NEED to make money, or guess what they won’t do it NEXT year? Amazing line of thinking!

As I noticed your post came from around the southern part of Illinois this rules out Tiger, so also let’s STOP the Tiger bashing.

Give the Klint and all the great people that help to put on not only this event, but other whatssmokin events a break. And for that matter all the promoters that take a chance on the weather, economy, and the attendance etc. need our support.

I understand not all events go perfectly, but let’s not lose focus and not takeout our personal vendettas on Klint and his hard working crew.

The thread "Wake up to What's Smokin' is cookin!", how is that allowed to stay posted? "The Concerned" is not a justifiable name. He or she is degrading the name and image of Klint and Whats Smokin Promotions and yet didnt post a real name, phone number nor did they post a email address. These are the 3 qualifications for a post to remain listed in this circumstance. I didnt see it until this morning or I would have deleted it myself when this mess started. I am not bashing you and Jake but he needs to look into this post. I am going back to sleep now. Still need a few hours of it to get caught up from the weekend :-)

I was there..and with any event there are just some things you cannot prevent. Thanks to Klint-and especially the ladies at the front office-and all the others that put alot of time in at Cloverdale. We WILL be back next year---that is if the promoter doesn't get discouraged from all the negatives posted on hereThumbs DownAngry

I wasn't at the event, but I could see where someone might be upset if a class was moved to a different night, ran extremely late, ect. It might not be a big isuue if you were there for the entire event, but what about those who went a certain night to watch those classes? I do think there is a more productive way to go about criticizing an event than how that individual chose to. As many have said already there is always something that can be improved no matter how well the event went and it's impossible to please everyone. I also think forums like this is a great way to offer ideas, opinions, likes, and dislikes about any event we attend. Having said that there is also a respectable way to go about giving our opinions. Ok enough of my rambling. I'm just gald that we have a place to voice our opinions and discuss this great sport we all enjoy!!!!
