Question for the "enlightened". Can a 3 charger set up be put on a 640 cid JD PS with all the goodies & it run with the regular SS diesels? Will it make boost & how mugh? I believe Bonner tried this with out much success. What do you think??

I think it would have to be a Big Block JD motor, I don’t think a SBJD would live with three turbos at 640 cubes.

There are a couple tractors out there exactly like the combo you mentioned, I haven’t seen them run yet, but I’ve heard they are quite impressive, and they’re still not completely dialed in yet. Lustik’s would know all the details, but I believe they are very similar to what you described.

I think Bonner had a ton of potential, but unfortunately I don’t think he ever got the turbo setup quite right. Some (not all) of those parts are in a tractor only a few miles from me, and it should be getting stronger and stronger this summer. The tractor is owned by John Raymond, and he’s: smart, stubborn, and patient (and a real nice guy to talk with) so I’d expect John to get a little stronger with each and every pass.

I know if I had the money the BBJD at 650 with three or four turbos is the route I’d take. I think it’s got a ton of untapped potential, and I think it could potentially dominate the class. I think it would take a little time to get it right, but once it was sorted out it would be tough to beat.

That’s said, I personally think the NTPA should lower the cubes in the DSS to 540 (pretty much everybody is already there or lower) before it’s a real problem. But, as usual the NTPA will wait until it’s a problem, then scramble to do something about it.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.

Thanks for the info. I know of a top knotch JD big block PS for sale and was thinking about buying it. I am from NC & we do not have a PS class here. I was thinking a good big cube PS changed over to a SS would be the tractor to beat. Take alot of time & money but isn't that tractor pulling?
