I'm looking for ideas to beef up the factory powershift transmission in my 4440 farm stock puller, ran last night and the tranny was slipping pretty bad. Is there anyway to beef up the transmission or am I better off to put a whole new rear under the tractor? Thanks in advance |

I heard of drilling the damper and bolting it to the pressure plate to make it hold, any truth in that? |

you will need to swap it out, will not hold the horsepower that the engine is going to put out if you work on it any at all! sorry been there done that!! |

Set operating pressure up to. 200 psi but it still won't hold much horsepower.if you go a lot of power go gears |

check to see if tortional damper disc is slipping in flywheel first |

Agree.. make sure the damper isn't slipping.. install new springs/stronger springs.. or add shims under the springs.. (but start looking for something else..) Try not to down shift at the end.. |

How much horsepower are you trying to run. |

Ben there

Agree with JD Nut, tried all the setting up pressure and making sure the damper was ok years ago best advice find something else for a transmission you will be money ahead, power shift's were made to farm with. |

That,s about the limit for a power shift . If you are serious about pulling and want 1000+ hp go with 4520-4620 transmission and 3 or 4 disc dry clutch .tried a lot of other stuff this set up is the way to go in the long run. |

I'm running in the 400-500hp range and would eventually like to go a little hotter |
