ford pump gear timing shims

Does anybody make shims to set the timing on a 401 stock pump gear or know of a set up that will work. Need something that we can adjust timing and not have it slip. Thought maybe there was some kind of different offset spacers that would space between the gear and the bolt. Thanks for any help |

I have never seen properly torqued timing bolts slip in all my experiences , but I guess it is possible? We are talking about the three on the front of the pump correct? must be pumping some serious fuel. more info please. |

I made some for mine out of aluminum ,it takes a different set for each change in degrees . also I drilled out the bolt holes and tapped for next larger size. Your local machine shop should be able to do this.As for if its needed, I don't know. [silvercreekanimalhospital.com]. |

I am talking about three on the front of the pump drive. We are running a p pump. We also have a mechanical fuel pump that drives off the pump drive so there is a hub that bolts on the front of the gear with the three pump bolts so the gear is in between the pump dirve and the supply pump hub. The bolts are allen headed bolts that are recessed in the supply pump hub and we torqued them all we dared but it still slipped. |

make sure your point of bearing is not too much on your hub. |
