I used one of these:

Sensor Connection

It's worked really well for me and it was cheap. It's a little hard to see in the bright sunlight, but that hasn't been too big of a problem. You do have to buy the probe separate (which they sell), or in my case I used an Autometer probe that I already had. I believe any Type-K thermocouple probe will work.
