Can you get a 766 down in a 6000lb class with 200 lb on the front, with a dt466? I wanting to pull a light hot farm and I want the easiest turning transmission. I thought a 766 in direct will turn easier than a 560 in 2nd or 3rd gear with custome gears. Limited to a 3lm and a rotary or 10 mm a pump, just trying to squeeze evey thing out of motor and transmission . Thanks for any advice

Simple answer is yes. But will require some lighter parts.

You can with a lot of work but using a lighter tractor to have more moveable weight will be a lot bigger benefit to you than a easier turning transmission. Power wont be your problem

We can build you a 400 or 560 rear that will work fine. We will give you 3 gears to choose from. Most of our LT Hot Farm chassis weight between 5000 - 5400lb, depending on options.

So witch one do you think turns easier? And would running direct on a 06/66 transmission be close to the ratio you would need for speed with the fast ring and pinion. And if I'm not going to be running direct then I might as well just use 560 rearend?

If you are trying to make 6000 pounds with 200 if moveable you really are going to have to trim some weight. I have seen it done but it just barley made it, holes drilled in the cast iron of a 706 rear housing 1 forward gear lots of light weight change overs good luck

What tires will you be using, makes a big difference on both weight and gear

The tire size is 18.4x38 any cut, radials or bias.
