How much compression will you lose putting a 55 series head on a 466 with the higher compression pistons? this will be on a 3LM 466 class no water. Thanks for any replys.

well, how much higher compression pistons did you install? what head came off of it originally? what pistons did you have originally? these would be key in answering

If you use 4240 n/a pistons it will be close to the same as a stock say 4440 comp. Ratio. but using those pistons limits your injectors as the piston bowl is smaller. 1 thing you could do( I have done this and it works great, but I wouldn't do it again because it takes the hemispherical part out of the combustion chamber out) is surface grind the 55 series head down .100" and use the factory 466 turbo in pistons and it will be good. So the right way to do it is buy billet pistons for the ratio you need for the fuel and air that fits your needs.

According to tractor data, 4440 is 14.9:1. The 4450 is 15.8:1. The 4455 is 16:1. Depends on the head and pistons used. You can get a 55 series low ring piston, like out of a 4960, that you can cut valve reliefs in if need be. I’ve been told compression is too low if you try to run a 55 series head and 40 series pistons and bowl design not right for injectors .
