If you pull is at night... Lights!!!! If you don't have them, rent some construction lights or get some donated from rental company.
Sound system.. If people can't hear whats going on, they lose interest, and they leave. Both of the above tie for #1. ---

try to keep show moving? have some one aggressively lining up the competitors? but that also requires a quick working track crew..and enough equipment! V-blades work well in most tracks? wobble wheel packers work well!,the nervous turtle (hyway drum packer) is too slow! and forget the payloader for leveling!..Try to have enough food venders as people like to eat and watch show? not stand in line? Quality sound system is important! good knowledgeable announcer! after all they are part of the show too! if possible have the crowd farther back from the track then everyone will have better sight lines? how much seating is tough to gauge? until you have run a few years? better to have people sitting then hanging off the fences? and talk to promoters from other events, most would be happy to help you with a few pointers
