Who is a supplier of offset woodruff keys for a cam? I'd like a 4 or 5 degree offset but Summit only has 2. Who would be a good shop to build an adjustable Cam gear?

What engine are you working on? Not trying to be "smart", however couldn't you move it a tooth and use the 2 degree offset to go back or forward to get what you want?

I'm working on a IH 407. I want to move about 4 degrees one tooth equals 12 degrees according to my manual.

Murphy's motor service has them, 2,3,4,5,6, degrees in the set . will work in the 407 cam.

So the set you have for the 301 works just the same in a 407 and the degrees and everything match up??

Dumb question: stock timing is 105* centerline on a 407 right? So moving it up to 98* or whatever, what does that do in the engine?

Can someone explain it? Opens the valves earlier in the cycle but how does that effect performance. Just trying to learn. Thanks.

Piston then has more time to compress the air that theoretically would produce more heat. Great for performance in a short period of time, but I wouldn't want to run a farm tractor all day in the field like that.

Get a overer size KEY file it down yourself whoever ground your cam can tell you how much the off set needs to be if you cant figure it out
