What is the recipe for a dependable Cummins 5.9 with a 3000 RPM limit, rotary pump and limited turbocharger?
I would like to make 500 bhp. Thanks Rich |

Call Haisley Machine. I buy parts from them for stock to wild Cummins builds that we put together at our shop. Hands down best customer service out all the places I deal with. 500 HP isn’t hard to reach these days. We finished a customers truck up a few weeks ago that make 900HP to the wheels using a s467, 100% injectors, twin stock CP3 pumps, used Haisley L19 studs, Haisley push rods, #103 springs, new stock rocker arm assemblies. Truck was an 06 5.9 with 230k on it. |

Do you have any experience with 5.9s on alcohol? |

If rules allow it, go with a VP44 pump. It's rotary, but electronic and will eat a VE or Roosa alive. |

Rich,
I ran a 93 dodge years ago. Made 425hp and over 1000 ft-lbs of torque on a wheel dyno through a lockup converter auto. Had a 14mm VE, 6x.016” injectors, 62mm inlet S300, o-ringed head with studs, 60 lb valve springs, slight polish on the head, on an otherwise stock short block with 270k miles. Still runs, just detuned it so I could drive it and tow. I believe KTA on heat has/had a VE powered twin charged truck around 600 hp. What’s your turbo limit? The VE does fuel real hard over 3200 rpms anyway. |

The current turbo rules is 3LM466 stock turbo, I think that is going to change this year to a limit on inlet and outlet size.
I am currently using a Roosamaster pump. Thanks Rich |
