Performance Shops in Iowa: Recommendations? July 20, 2020 03:25PM
Looking to have some performance work done to a Pro Field Tractor. Have a friend looking as well. Everyone will work on red and green 466’s. Will any of the performance shops work on/build a 478 Hercules or a 421 Allis or a 407 IH? Any recommendations on who to reach out to? I have a 421 Allis and a friend has a DT407 both trying to run a 3LM 3000 fast farm class. Looking for someone to put finishing touches on and dyno-tune. Located just south of Des Moines, Iowa. Hopefully someone who won’t laugh when I tell them what we got. Thank you.

These guys work on the rare breed stuff? Figured it was just Deere’s and 400 series IH??

I can’t speak as to all the shops but I used Joe Busch for my 4430 and am VERY satisfied. My group is the MPA , Midwest Pullers Association, mostly trucks but we have 3 tractor classes, Farm Stock, Hot Farm, Too Hot To Farm. We sure could use some more smoker tractors if anyone in Central Iowa needs a group to run with! Find us on FB and internet using MPA.

Ament's Repair and Dyno service works on all of them they have Allis tractors out Oliver V8Cat out there they will hook you up IH JD also Farley IA. 563-744-3424 Ron , Austin or Joe

I have no idea if Prairie Performance works on either motor mentioned but definitely would call and ask. Good guy and does great work

Iowa: Joe Busch or Aments? December 14, 2020 08:13AM
I'm from SE Iowa. Joe Busch and Ament Repair have been mentioned, both not too far from me. Any recommendations between these two on IH stuff? 3000 RPM, A Pump, Small Turbo.

What are the pros and cons for each? Hard to decide on a place to go cus once the motor is there you are pot committed. Any advice would be great. Thank you.

Get a hold of Joe Busch Ag repair Joe and his boy and the other guys will tell you what you can do and not to do he has some nice running tractors out there I know there’s some guys are out of Mount Ayr that uses Joe on an 806 and it runs damn good

Is that Tommy Overhoslers 806 from Mt Ayr? They get theirs worked on at Joe Bush???

Sure all these guys do a great job.

My budget is really limited. Want tractor dyno tuned the way it is so I am getting everything I can get.

Who is the most reasonable on price/bang for your buck??
