466 head stud stripped

I have a 466 was goin to torque the head today. Went to
Torque one stud and it gave. Stripped the thread in the block. Anybody ever done this? Best fix to drill and retap? |

Can you still torque it real high like the rest? |

What do you mean by high? 9/16 studs at 190Kpsi are rated 180 pounds of torque, they will yield at about 240. They only need 3/4 minimum of thread in the block to break the stud before stripping.

I used ARP studs in my blue one,,, no wearing out the threads in the block that way |
