big block deere identification to sell August 05, 2020 07:04AM
I need some help as I am an IH guy. A friend of mime is cleaning out a shed that has a big block deere engine How do you tell if it is a 531 or a 619. there is no tag on the block. It was believed to be from a irrigation pump. they were going to put it in a deere dozer but rebuilt the original engine instead . It has a turbo no intercooler a rotary pump with a large bolt pattern like an inline pump.

I've seen some DM pumps on 531's with the P pump bolt pattern, used in graders. If pump is still on it, post it's numbers, that may tell you what it was supposed to be originally.

the pump number is DM4627ME3242 deere # AR86172

there should be a casting number on the block (usually near the starter) or on the cylinder head that will help.

The Stanadyne application lists that pump being for engine 6531TT02. Doesn't give me an application as to what machine so it likely was just a stationary power unit.

I googled that deere # It came up as a 770 grader engine but its painted green but could have been repainted, well it's probably not worth much not being a 619

644B loader ran a 531 turbo with no intercooler and a rotary pump. I wasn’t aware of a motor grader running a big block
