Just curious, what kinda power can you make with a 426 Allis block before she splits? Just wondering for buying one in the future if I can make the amount of power I want to without serious carnage. Thank you

2500 is pretty safe, very much over that and your pushing your luck, 200lbs to 230 on boost is about all you want, much over that on a regular basis and the block will let go.

Depends on the rules of your class. Cubes and head have a lot to do with it.

I think that would be more than plenty power wise, I just hear the odd person say they won’t take serious power. Does anybody know who builds some of the best Allis blocks in the USA? I could go 516, just wondered in general for the block itself, not necessarily cubes. Thank you for all the knowledge guys.

The class will be a max 540, p pump. Just wanna get my ducks in a line before I spend the money. I may even get lucky and one comes up on here.

If it is a 540 cube limit, and you are allowed a custom made cylinder head, if you spend as much money on injectors, injection pump, valves/lifters/camshaft and single turbo as all the Deere and IH guys do, you will be fine.

Who makes these custom cylinder heads? Will having .250 shorter rods on a stroked crank hurt your power potential? (Ford diesel truck rods)

At one point Indy Cylinder Head was doing AC 426 heads.

Himes or Hines cylinder heads are what I hear about. Flows air comparable to IH or Deere.
