Direct drive in LLSS
|
New puller

Anyone ever try running direct and just reverse in a LLSS. If so can it compete? I understand hand having gear selection is an adventage, and this is the power of a light super, but I’m curious if it’s been tried or if it works |

I only have 2 gears & they are about 50/50 in usage. |

The second Blue Blazes was direct drive. We converted it to a LL for the second owner, put a lower gear rear end in it and kept it direct drive! Not sure what set up the current owner has in it! |

Does it force you to have play with drawbar more often? |

I ran for year and half with only direct. On sticky tracks or if running in 7000 lbs. open class i would play with drawbar. Now have atlas max 3 speed and about 80% time run direct. |
