There is a PPL Champions Tour pull the same night in Altamont 90 miles sway that is also running heavy mods and TWD. Exactly which mods and TWD do you expect to show up in Waterloo?

I can think of maybe Austin's with 1 mod if they still run it, and 1 twd. Who else in those classes is actually going to show up?

There were 4 mods last year and 10 2WD trucks with a regular purse I think. So there may not be many mods, but I bet there will be plenty of trucks. Unless you're in the points chase, why wouldn't you take a shot at 5 grand for one hook? Does the points championship even pay that?

$10,000 to win a PPL points championship and $2,400 to win a Champions Tour event I believe.

Is it possible the 2 promoters would work together to pull the two wheel drives and mods first at one locale and last at other locale ? Altamont has a ton of classes that could span the 2 hours drive between locales

Both of these events are showcase events for their respective fairs so both will start at relatively the same time. Would be impossible for them to try and schedule where folks could run both. The Monroe County Fair and the Effingham County Fair are some of the best fairs in the state of Illinois. Both places will be packed. Whichever show a person decides to go to, be assured that they will get a great show either place. On behalf of the Monroe County Pull Superintendent Gene Stumpf, I have personally reached out to many national level pullers that both conflict and don't conflict with classes and I can assure you that both places will have great shows featuring some of the biggest names in pulling. If possible please try to support one show or the other. You will not be disappointed.

Visited the Monroe County Fair for the first time on Saturday, driving from west of the St. Louis area. One of the best single track pulls I've ever been to as a fan, and the fair was extremely nice. Easy parking, great food choices, awesome motorsports arena. Fantastic announcing and a quick moving show. Feels like whomever is putting this on really knows there stuff and I look forward to making the trek to Waterloo an annual thing.

Thanks for having us. We enjoyed it. Your fair is doing something right and many other fairs in our state should look at what you are doing and take notes.I could tell that alot of leg work was involved to put that show on.
