I believe there’s some pro’s that are double nickel or more, especially a couple green ones that like to turn the timing up In Louisville

I can't answer your question, but I know the numbers are amazing to a fellow who remembers when a 45 head on the pump and a TO-8 charger would get you 6-800 horses and make you king of the county fair.Smiling

that nice but how many hooks does it stay together? And lay down very respectable hook? And then it is in shop for how many missed hooks before returning to compete? And at what phenomenal cost?

Who cares? It isn't your money and you get to see it however briefly for now. I really don't understand this point of view. Nothing gets pushed forward with this attitude.

Overall the DSS is overrated. They are making about the same power as pro stocks but only have a handful of tractors in the class. And even fewer complete a pass without having issues. Promoters and spectators deserve to see solid numbers at GN pulls. The class is taking up space on the GN circuit. It's time to either combine the fuels or get rid of the class. There are way too many good light pros and 4.1s out there that deserve a spot on the GN circuit.

DSS is supposedly one of the most requested classes by promoters, I agree they have their issues however everyone of them is atleast somewhat unique in their own way, they have setups that differ greatly from each other , they sound different than one another and they make slightly different levels of power all in the same class whereas most other classes including prostock and 4.1 all sound look and perform basically the same I think it’s the variety that keeps people’s attention and now and then a surprise pass that blows everyone else out of the water, I’m not sure what a top prostock makes for hp but I’ve always felt like the numbers we all hear are somewhat inflated I’ve seen a respectable prostock jump in with the GN supers fairly recently and was surprised to see that it didn’t even break the top 5, you can compare the 2 classes but prostock is still coming up short I’d say by at least 1000hp but we won’t all agree on that of course.

Light pros and 4.1 don't belong anywhere near a gn show. Wasn't sf supposed to solve all these so-called problems? SSD and PS should be the ONLY GN smoke tractor classes! What makes you think all these lights and 4.1's will run all over the country to support gn? Everyone wants to be in GM until they actually are and have to commit to all the travel!!

I care. It's my favorite class and I like being able to watch them run. Things getting "pushed forward" is a nice philosophy. But if I drive two hours to a pull and the class only has four DSS and only two are able to get going, I'm not going to be sitting there telling my buddies, "Hey guys, there may only be two DSS tonight whereas there used to be 10, but by God, did you hear about them dyno numbers?!!"
