Screws for rims.

What size screw does everyone use and what size drill bit is used. |

I believe it's 3/16. I bought screws from Hawthorne. He'll tell you everything you need to know. Supposedly sheetmetal screws are too soft and not what you want to use. |

For my steel rims, I ended up ordering the Moroso 90100 rim screws for drag cars. I initially bought stainless screws from McMaster-Carr, and drilled all the holes, but the stainless screws would just gall and strip. The Moroso ones I think are a gd5 or better sheet metal screw. Worked fine as long as I carefully screwed them in by hand ratchet the first time cutting the threads. I'd guess stainless screws would work fine in aluminum. |

Thats a big no on stainless on aluminum. You should be able to use an impact to put them in.

Yeah Mark's right. Hawthorne or Parkes sells screws. I would find a stronger 13/64" than what they give you. McMaster-Carr sells them individually for $3. |
