Gooseneck Flatbed Trailer ??? March 30, 2025 01:07PM
I’m wanting to upgrade my gooseneck flatbed trailer. I currently have an older Moritz trailer 14k, it has been a great trailer for me. As I’ve been looking, there are so many different brands of trailers. Looking for opinions on what’s good and what brands to avoid.
Thank you!

I have experience with Moritz, Gatormade, and PJ. I would recommend the PJ or Moritz but will not buy another Gatormade. The wiring on the Gatormade was not well done, and it was a nightmare to get parts from them. I worked for two months to get a replacement fender for an equipment trailer and ended up with three fenders and none of them were correct. I bought the trailer brand new from their factory in KY and they couldn't get me the correct fender, ever.

The PJ and Moritz are both well built and have been trouble free besides normal bearing, brake, and tire maintenance

That being said, I just ordered a new Felling 30K tag trailer and am looking forward to receiving it. They are a bit more expensive but they appear to be built very well and were easy to work with as far as setting up options and adding options in specific locations on the trailer where we need them.

Some say the powder coating on PJ trailers flake off and rust pretty quick. I have a 2008 and 2016, and after a good wash, the powder coating is still holding, even after a lot of miles, summer and winter. These have been from southern Texas to Minnesota, from Iowa to New York and Baltimore, From Missouri to West Palm Beach, Florida, to Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin several trips during the winter. Both of mine were built in Sumner, Texas, close to Paris, Texas. PJ also has a factory at Mount Orab, Ohio.
