Just curious September 24, 2009 12:46PM
what did the 7210 and 7100 series magnums run for motor I thought they were a 8.3? Oh they had a DT466 didn't they!!

Re: Just curious September 24, 2009 12:56PM
7100, 7200, 8900, mx180 mx200 mx220 mx210, mx230 all have 8.3 with mech injection. mx240 mx270 mx255 mx285 have 8.3 with caps pump 24 valve mx215 mx245 early mx275 have HPCR 8.3 Later mx275 mx305 mx335 have HPCR 9.0

7100 and 7210 had them as well September 24, 2009 01:10PM
Just went and double checked. I guess the point was, a good majority of the stuff pulling on the NTPA circuit had an 8.3 in it other than the JD's and old 66 series IH stuff and a couple hot runnin Fords out of Wisconsin

Add the White 160 to the list.

That's a good list of row crop or FWA tractors, what about the 4WDs? Would that come into play in the game of pulling at any time? If I remember correctly, that 8.3 made for all CNH tractors was a special engine made for them by Cummins. I always heard it termed the "Case Cummins" at the dealerships. If memory servies me correctly, there really wasn't much that crossed over from the CNH 8.3 and the assembly line 8.3 that you could get. If I am wrong, please forgive me.

We have never had any problems switching things over.

Most of the CNH 8.3 cummins engines say Consolidated Diesel Corp on them instead of Cummins. Otherwise they are an industrial spec Cummins engine. You can find a few parts with Cummins stamped on them. Like the computer modules, etc.

So why aren't more pullers running it? August 13, 2014 02:45PM
