Hillsboro Charity Pull and PPL August 11, 2025 07:27AM
I can’t help but notice, the Hillsboro charity pull was this past weekend. Looking at results on the PPL website, there were guys registered in classes they don’t even compete in, such as a mod tractor named Wildfire. That guy does NOT have a mini, though was registered to the mini rod class with his modified. I saw pictures of the event and how they were scraping mud and slop off with a snow pusher on a skid loader, a graders front wheels buried, the track being a mess. And yet nobody here is pointing out and knitpicking every detail and brow beating them for it. No comments about tarps and how they should have one or how the venue should have one etc. Did I miss something or are we only allowed to beat on NTPA?

Same thing with the Goshen, IN pull. Ran so slow. Had a lightning delay with zero rain. The local track was running for 1 hour before the PPL track.

No ones seems to complain about the PPL website either which is 10X worse than the NTPA website. Something as simple as wondering where the champions tour super farms all hook is only found by clicking and sifting through all 27 of their champions tour events and then writing them down as you go. Direct results page links for each pull in the points standings is also something they could learn from the NTPA website.

I have to agree, the PPL website is not very user friendly. Their schedule is not well done at all. The NTPA site tells which classes ( be it regional, state or national) are all listed under their schedule. I was checking the results from Hillsboro and there was no indication of a class being rained out or not. NTPA and PPL both need to be updated their sites. The Outlaws, in my opinion has the best site of the three.

I was there all weekend, granted helping out with the show. So maybe one could call me biased.
The rain wasn’t supposed to hit until about 4 PM Saturday. We thought the afternoon show would be able to complete before the rain.
7-8 tractors ran on each side and the skies let loose. Nasty wind and rain.
4.1s and Mini Rods sat in the staging lanes. There was no getting a tarp to it ahead of the rain.
I heard some people asking about a tarp there, but the issue with seams in various spots was a big point of concern.
James and the crew had their hands full getting it shaped up but did a great job.
Probably easier having a “uniformly soaked” than dry with wet pockets to reshape.
The Mini you are referring to (I believe) is Timmerman Motorsports from WI. Not sure what got messed up on results.

You are 100 percent correct interesting observation if it was a ntpa pull there would have been a thread on here a mile long

Try like three or four different ones that long.
