Combined super stock class August 16, 2025 08:23AM
So now that exactly what I predicted would happen came true……. Do we still want to combine the classes? What’s the viability rate look like here?

Re: Combined super stock class August 16, 2025 08:33AM
And what did you predict?

Dick, go back and review the thread on combining the ss classes. You will find the answer to your question there

Re: Combined super stock class August 16, 2025 09:54AM
Instead of just simply stating it here and awnsering his question. What a douchebag.

Yeah. Nobody is going to do that, because nobody cares.

Ntpa has killed off many gn glasses over the years, let the 2 ss ones die out and go with pro and lt pro..Jordan more than likely seen the future and did just that

Great idea because all we need is to add another single charger class to Bowling Green or any other pull for that matter. I don't get all the hate on the Supers lately. In fact, it was quite a strong showing in both the Open and Diesel Supers at Bowling Green. I get it, sometimes there is a lot of breakage and numbers are low but man when they put on a show, they really put on a show.

And before anyone asks if I get it or don't get it......sarcasm!!! Let's add another 30-40 single charger class to the grand national circuit and to the most prestigious event in truck and tractor pulling!? The fact is that many people don't want to sit and watch 30,40,50 of the same vehicles go down the track. They want some variety. Maybe eliminate a hook or two for Supers to try and keep more of them together but to eliminate them or let them die out is foolish. They've actually had some new entrants to the class this year and numbers have been decent at most pulls. Yes, they will always have some breakage. I don't wanna live in an all single charger world!!

No one wants to kill off either the DSS or the OSS class, by combining them you will save them both. And like everyone else they use BG as a benchmark for pulling. BG is in a all together different category than an other pull. Look at all the rest of the OSS class in either PPL or NTPA, usually not very good numbers, and same with the DSS class. So stop using BG in your argument.

I am not going to argue whether they should be combined or not. Not my fight, not my battle, not my war. Let's look at Diesel Supers in NTPA this year. A few new faces running points in Adam Bauer, Kyle Holland, Doug Meissinger, and Mike Schultz. Yes, Bauer and Meissinger have had some pretty bad luck and not been out a bunch. Holland just had 2 top 5's at BG and has consistently gotten better with each week.

They have had much better class numbers then some on this website would like to come to grips with.

Hutchinson session 1 - 12 entries
Hutchinson session 2 - 6 entries

Tomah session 2 - 15 entries
Tomah session 5 - 11 entries

Chapel Hill session 1 - 12 entries
Chapel Hill session 2 - 8 entries

Fort Recovery - rained out but 9 entries

Rockwell session 3 - 14 enties
Rockwell session 5 - 10 entries

Napoleon one session - 7 entries

Bowling Green session 2 - 13 entries
Bowling Green session 5 - 12 entries

Yes, Napoleon is the outlier as many in the DSS want to save it for Bowling Green. But please don't tell me that entry is weak or getting worse for Diesel Supers. It was actually much worse a few years back when parts and manufacturing was scarce because of the pandemic. The fact is NTPA has had pretty good entry for their Diesel Super class yet not many on this website want to look at the facts and admit it. Not everyone can lay down a pass like Ross or Blackbourn. But I for one find it extremely boring when I watch 10 single chargers get stuck in the same rut at 320 feet. I'd rather see the 380 a 360 and 350 awesome passes and if the rest are behind that's ok.

Im a huge ss fan,for 50 years this year.keeping a gn CALIBER dss going is near impossible for anybody/team.i agree with dick,bg shouldn't be used as a benchmark in any convo at any time.ive said many times over the years that wsrpath and youngblood were the best thing to happen to the ps-ss classes because they both were legit matching and were underdog winners. Doug roberts was right about the future of the ss class 15 +/- years ago,the future he predicted is here now,and none of us care for it.id be all 4 a combining of the fuels if cubic inch is equal, which would have to be 540,and if cam location was the same

Re: Combined super stock class August 17, 2025 05:10AM
Do we know who that other competitor was? I find it hard to believe that it was Jeff Hirt knowing the chaos relationship? Thinking it might have been the entitled boy who walked to the winners circle Saturday with a big ol pouty face

Re: Combined super stock class August 16, 2025 01:15PM
You mean the alky guys played by the same rules the diesel guys did back in the day when they tried to burn the alky guys down? Terry remembered that, don't blame him a bit for returning the favor!

Re: Combined super stock class August 16, 2025 01:24PM
I’m pretty sure Colin’s comment was not directed to terry but the other competitor

What was the comment? I missed the interview

Re: Combined super stock class August 16, 2025 01:42PM
After praising terrys passes he said he wished there had been more cool down time but a competitor threw the rule book in his face and that he was gonna shove that rule book up his @$$

Re: Combined super stock class August 17, 2025 09:59AM
“Mr. Excitement” did in fact bring up the rule book. So, believe what you want.

And that’s a shame for the crowd who’d were the losers bc you know that hurt parts.

Re: Combined super stock class August 17, 2025 10:46AM
And Mr excitement would be Jeff, which would be the other competitor? So exactly what I said, da

Re: Combined super stock class August 17, 2025 11:46AM
I guess if there is pouting about the rule book, one could propose a rule change effective 2026.If someone knew they were going to do the double (DSS/OSS) as they did in 2024 (I believe), perhaps they should have proposed a change in 2024. There is a rule book. It is pretty comprehensive and can be yours for only $8.00.
