Enderle, No Test Puller Rule August 17, 2025 03:59PM
It was announced at the drivers meeting at BG how there will no longer be a test puller option at the Enderle.

What this all stems from is how the brand new tech director in 2023 just made up rules for the RN portion of the Mini Rod class that year. There was a mini from WI that was test puller and wasn't allowed to come back for his second attempt.. I overheard the tech director try to cover his tracks by saying how they should do away with the test puller option. In 2025 they are going to do just that.

Re: Enderle, No Test Puller Rule August 18, 2025 03:10AM
What’s the problem with this? Enderle has been known as the one and done pull. I don’t think the Tech Director made this call. There was also other changes to Enderle, maybe before blame is pointed just have a conversation before jumping on the keyboard.

There is also a rule int the book that all competitors shall have the NTPA shield decal displayed on each side of the vehicle. Check out the number of Pro Stock tractors and diesel trucks that didn't have one. Nit picking, I know, but if you ain't gonna follow it, why have it. And don't even want to mention about lights on vehicles going down the track.

Mr. Webb, this is another discussion, but I'll ask: Is NTPA's rulebook too thick? Are there too many rules?

Re: Enderle, No Test Puller Rule August 18, 2025 04:07AM
Thats how the enderle has always been no change to that rule

So sanctioned by ntpa, using MOST of ntpa rules.whitworth got screwed at bg in his pulloff in lss,by not following the contest operations for when they should be done.waiting that long between hooks breaks a few rules, plus pan cools down

Yes most of the rules are used but many aren’t. For example look at headers 10° out and back. Many aren’t well over that but if you are the who’s who, rules don’t apply. I didn’t get to watch Thursday night. How did whitworth get screwed?

Re: Enderle, No Test Puller Rule August 19, 2025 03:06AM
No test puller option at Enderle I understand.

So NO DROPING also not available?

Will #1 in points always pick last as their draw position?

I like this one and done shootout approach.

All GN champs to be crowned in Urbana.

Thought I read that it was double points, but might be mistaken. How about that competitor in sixth, one point out of fifth?

Re: Enderle, No Test Puller Rule August 19, 2025 03:43AM
If the event is now a points pull you should be using points rules. It went from and invitational event that had no effect on the points race to now determine the points champion.

Do points reset? August 19, 2025 03:52AM
Do points reset? Does the Enderle winner automatically win the poinrs? Not sure how this is supposed to work.

Re: Do points reset? August 19, 2025 04:19AM
Points remain how they were before the event. It's just a way to ensure the best vehicles attend instead of the growing trend of opting to stay home. Not hard to figure out.

Re: Do points reset? August 19, 2025 04:33AM
Top 5 are invited.

Points apply as per usual with no reset. Gaps in points carry over.

Hook order will be random blind draw live on Friday.

Test hook will not apply, but 100' attempt will.

Isn't the idea of a test puller for the puller and for the sled setting?

So if we are only going 280 feet, that'll be exciting...

I say if we do away with the test puller option, that we do away with the 100 foot attempt option too. If we are out to screw over the puller, let's not only go halfway here!

Re: Do points reset? August 19, 2025 06:30AM
How often has there been a sled reset at the Enderle? They are notorious for having the longest distances of the year. I can't recall the last time their has been a sled reset there.

So, any puller with a lead of 6 or more coming into the Enderle is guaranteed their title, whether they show up or not. Still cash on the table to be won.

Re: Do points reset? August 19, 2025 05:59AM
No cus if they don't show up, they won't get any points

I should have used 31 points instead of 6, but if a puller has a dominant season with a big lead of 31 or more, they would win whether they show up or not. If 2nd place guy got 30 and won the hook, he'd still be 1 behind.

If a guy has a 16 point lead and just shows up to get 15 points and cannot hook, he wins the title.

If a guy has a 5 point lead and bumps the sled and gets his 26 points, he wins.
That wasn't the intent, but in these cases it appears that is the loophole.

Re: Do points reset? August 19, 2025 06:32AM
And if the points ended at the last session before the Enderle they still would have won the points.
