NTPA and Greg Randall August 20, 2025 01:51AM
What's everyone's opinion on Greg Randall ?
Mine is it's time for him to go. NTPA needs new management to change. Greg learned from Dave and it definitely has gone down hill. Need new Blood and Brain Trust to move forward. Flame Away !

First thing it's Gregg not Greg and the second thing is I'm sure you don't even know Gregg's roles and responsibilities at NTPA are. Gregg's does a great job for the position that he is in with NTPA. If I was going to start laying any blame I would start with leadership. There is a new president that was going to move the organization and the sport to next level. I have not see anything that has changed. And the tech department needs some better leadership and more consistent rulings.

Sorry on the Greg vs Gregg didn't notice my auto correct changed the spelling.
Was definitely a improvement when they replaced Richwine !

I think the NTPA is healthier right now than it has been in a long time! There are new and exciting things happening, numbers are good etc.

In the past I've spoken bad about the NTPA but I think the last year or two they've made some fair changes. DO they still have room for improvement?? Absolutely. But what organization in any sport doesn't have things to improve on?

Sometimes I think people are too quick to focus on the negatives when there are plenty of obvious positives right in front of your face. There was just an awesome weekend of pulling in Bowling Green! Turnout in BG was larger than it has been since pre covid. Puller numbers were really good. Lets celebrate that!

One thing worth noting with Ned Walliser is that he seems to be open to feedback and criticism. And Ned is in charge not Gregg

Bowling Green would have big numbers without NTPA sanctioning !

Re: NTPA and Greg Randall August 20, 2025 02:49AM
There are things that need looked at, no matter who is in charge.

The website is clunky. The Enderle points deal is clumsy, though it may work out. Consistency in enforcement of rules such as dumping "excess" water could be tightened up. Member states are a shadow of what they once were. EFI should be allowed, at least at the GN level if not everywhere. I'm not sure turning so much over to Full Pull is in NTPA's best interests. There are other issues that could be addressed.

The organization is doing something right, especially compared to PPL. As someone said, numbers are good. I hope they continue to strive and innovate, but improve in areas where they can and should.

It would be great if year end payouts could at least get back to what they were during the Copenhagen Skoal years.

To point the finger at Gregg is ludicrous at best. NOTHING and I mean nothing happens in the NTPA without the approval of the WPI board. Gregg answers to them. You want to see change in pulling, start blowing up the phones of the WPI board members and shareholders. Good luck finding out who the shareholders are, such is the way of a privately held company. You will find few people in this country that have as much passion as Gregg and have spent their life working at it. Yes he is GM in title but in reality he can not make course altering decisions without the approval of the select. In large part he is hog tied.

On some good news.
For those that say the web site is clunky, etc.
The math teacher that can't find a job quit.
Improvements incoming.
They won't be instant, but there are changes coming.

"Pointer Outer", what is your source? Or is it just another rumor? The website home page is already different.

Gotta agree that Gregg does a great job with what he is asked to do.. Saw him doing laser measurements at Farley in addition to what his job is. I believe the above post correctly noted there is a Board that makes decisions and Gregg is tasked with moving them ahead.

The larger question that I have now is .. : Why Change? PPL has gone by the way side.. Where else is the competition?
NTPA publishes a rule book that everyone else either follows or copies.. What is the driving factor to force NTPA to change the way they move forward if they are the last ones continually standing?

how is ppl going by the wayside explain please

I believe he is talking about Lucas Oil backing out... But if you look at competitor numbers currently or even beginning of the year they aren't great anymore.
