Won’t they still need the box turbo to go to Council Bluffs, which is a western series event and western series has the box turbo, correct, |

Second hand Information, but I heard PPL Western Series and NTPA do not have a box turbo rule. Some of the Nebraska Bush 4.1 guys do not run with the Outlaws. |

From what Ive seen in IL, the classes that switched to box chargers both had opposition in the beginning and now it seems pretty unanimous, they all love it and wish they had done it years ago. The 5.0 pros and 6850 hot farms. The small hot farm class went from guys 20ft ahead and behind the pack to a very even field of tractors. My personal opinion is you will not see a class die because of box turbos.
In regards to 4.1s, let's face it, when they get component chassis there will be a ton of them move to 5.0 pro anyway. Eventually people have to see past their own wants and look at what's good for a class and what's best for pulling in general. |

Correct no box charger with NE Bush. All I can see is good for them coming out of this situation. For one, pullers decided on it not just being told what rules they were going to follow like other organizations did. Think you will see a heavy class of 4.1 with nebraska bush this year hats off to them. |

Do box turbos lower costs?

Not pro or con on box turbos, just asking if a box turbo is cheaper for the puller than having no official supplier? What is the experience of pullers? |

Hard Truth

Won't matter to most. Not interested in buying another charger when most of us have one and a spare if not 2 spares, lose horsepower by doing it, which they will try and tell you 200-300 horse isn't that big of deal until you think about cylinder heads have been made to match the air flow of chargers, tractor gearing to match horsepower. All will also have to be re configured so when you think about all the R&D and money spent to find the best combination again this will cost pullers more than just slapping a box charger on and going pulling. Would be one thing if every organization could come together an all play the same but now as a puller we are right back to where we were 10 years ago when we had to switch pumps chargers and tires just to go pull with a different organization. And to the ones calling the shots that say "well you will want to come pull in council bluffs or wisner or any of these shows so you will have to buy a box charger" Your right we do want to come pull there but we won't plain and simple! |

From my experience going from Billet chargers to a GT4202R box turbo its been the best thing not only for the tractors but for the class as a whole. We have grown the Pro Farm class from 3 tractors in 2022 to 2025 having 12 and expecting another 3 in 2026. The turbos amd tractors live longer needing less maintenance, the class is more affordable to build to and at the end of the day the sled makes the show. We are going just as fast down the track as we always have been with less carnage and able to keep the tractors running all year. We arent pulling for the money but the money is keeping alot of new guys from getting into it at higher levels. Make it kinda affordable and grow the sport through consistent numbers. |

My Question is do majority of 4.1 want this most people. From what talk is that is not the case if you listen to different podcasts and talk to anyone that have gone to recent banquets or watched any comments on line that doesn't appear to be the case. |

Numbers will speak for themselves this summer. I may be wrong but from all of the podcast with different pulling organizations and talking with lots of veteran 4.1 pullers sure sounds to me like very few were for this.... My belief is some of these smaller organizations will thrive off of this and sounds like NTPA has a pretty large pre commit list. My question would be what happens if the box idea fails? Then what they just kill the class all around in those organizations? |

Of course, everyone is excited to buy another turbo when you already have one on your tractor that works! Some people do not run Harts turbos so I don’t expect them to go that direction. Thinking in the class of 4.1’s in the Outlaw’s will be hurting this season? Does anybody have a guess of how many guys will buy that turbo just to run outlaws? If I was a promoter, Are the outlaw guys that made it to the NFMS going to run a box charger!?lol I would definitely be worried about booking the class with the Outlaws in 2026. Guess time will tell!! |
