Shramek is a good guess
Other pullers of similar acreage out there Some pull nationally some pull farm stock Honestly a question like that is like asking a man to get out a tape measure and see how big something else is. Stay classy! |

If we are going to include past pullers in this discussion, I would say the former semi-truck pulling team of father and son Jerry Walker and Jeremy Walker (Two of a Kind and Double Down) would have to be considered. |

Tape Measure

Yes, but penis length is not. And when you get right down to it, Acres farmed, pulling tractor hp, etc. Isn't that what we are really talking about. I used to think the big farms looked cool and must be super rich. Over time i learned the guy farming 800 acres paid for ground with 20 year old paid for equipment and maybe a stock or hot farm puller, thats the guy with the money. The guy farming 10,000 plus acres with all the new equipment is leveraged to the hilt and so broke he cant get a decent nights sleep without at least a 6 pack before bed. Number of acres farmed means absolutely nothing it just an illusion. |

CPR -- first I didn't intend to try to get into ANYONES business !!! Didn't mean anything by asking !!!! I've yet to ever have anyone get upset or offended by asking how many acres they farm, large farming intreges me -- wish I could farm large but can't !!! It was a simple curiosity question !!! |

Re: Most acres

Honestly, I was kind of intrigued by the same question too. Didn't think there was so many offended so easily. We as fans hear about these farming operations, well, just how big? I'm sure some would be proud to tell you how big and what all they farm? unless, of course, you say you have a monster penis and really, it's smaller than a chihuahuas. |

Years agotge announcer would comment on how many acres a guy farmed, commented many times on how many pigs hutcherson raises, cows milked by boxler.i thought blagreves had a lot of ground.its pretty hard to get a 20 acre field in 1 piece here |

What I Know
|
There are several pullers in my area that each farm between 5,000-10,000 acres..They all pay their bills and are some of the nicest people that you will ever meet..Most pull diesel tractors and several have trucks.
There are other pullers that have large trucking companies, trailer manufacturing plants, lumber companies, turf farms, truck repair shops, run quarries, salvage yards, and much more..You name it and a puller has probably done it.. I dont envy a single one of them and see nothing wrong with knowing which puller farms the most acres..They all bring some tough pullers and put on a great show for us fans. |

Re: Most acres

Tape Measure
|
Would you also like to konw how many trucks the truck company has? How many trailers the trailer manufacturer builds? How many 2x4s the lumber company sells? How much sod the turf farm lays? How many trucks the repair shop fixes? How much rock the quarry sells? How many cars the junk yard takes in? Hell why stop there. Lets just everyone bring there tax returns and a tape measure to the next pull and we will get this settled out once and for all.
Arces farmed is not proportionate to success why do people care so much? |

Some people care about the Kardasians,,, some don't. Some care about football... some don't. Different people care about different things. Some people care about tractors, some trucks. Some people actually care about the people that own and pull the tractors too. Who are you to tell anyone what to care about? If you don't care about something then don't worry about it. If you don't want to answer a question then you can simply decline without being a Karen.
I've heard some of the best announcers in this sport ask those very same questions you posted and 90% of the time the puller has been happy to tell them about their farm size or how many cows they're milking. Most people are proud of the business they built or manage. Sure some don't answer but traditionally the vast majority have. They usually don't got into every detail... "we milk 1486 cows" but maybe give a range.. " around 1500-2000. You can answer and still be somewhat private if you choose. I can't believe so many of your guys got your panties in a bunch about acres farmed. Nobody is asking how much money they have in the bank or what their debt load is or how many acres are owned vs. rented and what their rent is... It doesn't tell you if their acres are good ground or not. I had tons of conversations with farmers and most are happy to talk about their farm. What I Know
|
Well said Jake..The early NTPA Puller magazines often had extensive interviews with pullers and it mentioned how they made their living and how many acres they farmed which was interesting..The announcers at the old M&W pulls always told the acres that each puller farmed..A pull announcer in my area always told how many acres a puller farmed..I dont remember a single puller being upset about it..I was recently looking thru a old state level puller yearbook and it mentioned what they did for a living and how many acres they farmed-etc..It also told their ages, how many kids they had,and gave the address and phone number for the puller-etc..That wouldnt fly today as lots are so secretive about things. Its a different world today..
I once farmed 800 acres of row crops and I am now retired..Back then I could easliy afford a state level puller..I now rent out the farm ground that I own.. |

I think the people who are upset by the question are not farmers. I've never hesitated to answer that question about our operation. I've never heard a farmer not answer the question. And yes, pulling magazine articles and YouTube interviews you filled with interviews about what pullers do for a living. I always thought that big farmers who have a trucking business in the winter months was the sweet spot for entry into being able to have a pulling vehicle. Hell, the Simons not only said everything they do but gave a personal tour for crying out loud, and put it on the internet! |

Couldn't agree more. I'm not sure what everyone thinks farmers have to hide. Fans want to know something about the pullers and their lives. Acres, type of farm, herd size, number of trucks on the road, company size etc... (whether they are farmers or something else). These are all things that help the average fan connect with the pullers. Fans love to know how pullers finance this hobby. What's the difference, every farmer you ask tells you none hesitate. Weather the number is accurate who knows. Why is everyone's underwear in a bundle over it. I am curious too, growing up on a 80 acre dairy farm it intrigues me to hear the monster numbers.
For the record I think it is a cool post and am curious. I find it interesting knowing what the pullers do and how they support this hobby. |

Since it’s a term that likes to get tossed around here liberally, you all are being a bunch of snowflakes…
Acres farmed and “endowment” are apples and oranges. It’s interesting to know how pullers are able to afford their hobby. The size of their operation does not tell us the amount of profit they are making. It isn’t as invasive as you all are making it seem. And before anyone like “Hypocrite” asks, I have about an acre of hay crop — but that’s only if the lawn gets too tall! Well John, I have an acres of hay too but I also have an acre of wooded swamp land so I have twice as much land as you. That makes me twice the person you are. I'm twice as rich and twice as important. If I put my mind to it I could grow a mustache twice as long as you. Jake Morgan Owner, PULLOFF.COM Independent Pulling News This page is a free service. My guess would be Simon's on the most livestock ( cattle ) unless chicken or turkey farms are included. |

At 1650 head I highly doubt that. And to the fanboys who undoubtedly will comment the Simmons’s are way bigger then that, the feedlot information is on the Iowa DNR website three locations 1650 total permitted head. Being big and acting big are two different things. |

Adding the word "Cattle" makes the company sound way more impressive and has tax benefits. I just learned that from watching Land Man last week |

This is ridiculous. If your going to ask those types of questions then-How many trucks do they have on the road. I think there was a trucking business that had a lot on the road that I still see on the road who had multiple SS's. How many quarries does a guy have, how big is his fuel company. Do they make their money dairy farming or in real estate. how many students are in the class they teach. How big is the hospital they work in. How many airlines do they pilot for. On and on. They're just the ones I know of. You sure can tell its winter. How many snowplows do they run. Lol |

Sure, most of those questions seem like fair game. (as a side note: I'm pretty sure Larry Roberts was asked multiple times about how many trucks R&L Carriers had on the road and he just gave a range "about XXXXX trucks" He didn't seem defensive or offended like it was a weird question... just an everyday question)
Have you ever watched any sports? Ever see the stories of the guys like kickers or punters in football who were working at a car dealership a few weeks ago? Fans love those cinderella stories and their back story. They love to have background on the people they cheer for. It's a simple way for fans to connect with the pullers. So and so has a trucking company and they have about 50 trucks on the road and they haul mostly salt from he salt mine or grain or etc... Those are all human interest stories and that connects with a certain type of fan. The goal of this sport and any other sport is to connect with the most fans possible and human interest stories are a great way to do that. Again, pullers don't need to give every single detail, but speaking in generalities or broad ranges seems like fair game. Nobody is asking about money in their bank account or the exact detail of their dyno sheets. Jake Morgan Owner, PULLOFF.COM Independent Pulling News This page is a free service. I believe that Boxler Dairy Farms have at least 2500 dairy cows and another 2500 calves and heifers. Well over 5000 animals. Dick Morgan www.PULLOFF.com Independent Pulling News Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/25/2026 11:15AM by Dick Morgan. |

As a puller this is the most personal thing that you could ask. Usually my next question is how much did you make this year? Shuts most interviews down right away. I’m surprised that you think we want to share this information. I personally don’t want my neighbors or anyone else to know. I guess if you are a high roller it doesn’t matter but as an average puller I don’t |

Nobody said you had to give them any information -- I'd probably say " enough to do this " and more than likely they take the hint but if not make up a number --- tell them you own 3 cows 4 ducks and 3/4 of an acre of turnup greens . |

There is a farmer in eastern Iowa who used to own a 3000RPM Hot Farm Tractor that ran with East Central Iowa Pullers Association a couple years ago. Last I heard (from my dad) was he was moving 10,000 head of hog EVERY DAY! Not saying he has the most money, but that really blew my mind! I throw this into the category above being discussed "most livestock". His name is Clarence Gansemer, from Sherrill, Iowa. |
