Pulling Plateau February 14, 2026 12:49PM
Has the top series pullers reached a plateau, it seems that there’s no latest and greatest technology left to separate the cream. As far as the big Pros none of the newer million dollar rides made the finals, most everyone has Mitas tires, and the best Wimer fuel and air but no killer passes anymore, as far as the other classes it’s about the same thing too, it appears that being consistent and keeping them together has become the way to go and I’m all for that, I always say if you drive it on the trailer it’s a win, but we have all gotten spoiled on there being that puller that was always setting the bar, and we expect to see that monster pass, especially at the show.

Everybody is equally on kill these days. There is also less variety under the hoods. We're at a phase in pulling history where it's easier to write a check rather than innovate.

Europe seems like they still innovate. Groups of nerdy engineers and machinists push European teams. Writing check to handful of builders seems less common.

If everyone runs the same fuel and air how are you going to put a huge gap on anyone?

This page is a free service. The cost is covered out of my pocket. It takes a great deal of time and a fair amount of money to keep this website going. Donations for: photos, classified ads, forum discussion, etc... are appreciated.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.

Only 2.5 % of our farmers have more than 500 acres. They don't write checks for pulling.
It's people "coming from farms" who do it here.

Out of the box February 15, 2026 01:37AM
None of the big builders want to do anything out of the box. They have millionaires lined up & they have quickly forgotten who their friends/customers were before they got the ball rolling. But there’s still a few of us thinkers out here that like doing odd ball stuff & even get help from our European friends!

Re: Out of the box February 18, 2026 12:57AM
DK why I take this bait but here goes... I as a Builder will NOT take a Customers hard earned money and give him something that may or may not work! When I had a LSS I tested much on my own rig! Lots of it was crap! Seemed like something that would revolutionize Pulling but ended up in the round file. The BOX, ya'll speak of Wins Pulls, Wins Championships, make a Builder look good and He can be Proud of His hard work. Thing is lots of Guys think this thing I'm gonna buy build do, is gonna get me a win by 30ft....aint out there! Build this thing you envision...Go Hook against Rob Russell, Meyer, Simons, Mastersons.. see how long it takes you to be sick n tired of hauling it all over the Country and getting made to look stupid. Yes, I have ideas that I want to try, but trying it on somone elses money with expectations for it to be great is just not a position I want to be in, if I was wealthy and could build and test and be prepared to maybe have to take the Torch to it and start over, I'd love to but you know what in one hand and wish in the other and see what that gets ya.

If you're looking for a monster pass and someone setting the bar that everyone else is chasing after look no further than Simon Sez modified. That tractor is basically unbeatable except for when it has a mechanical failure. This has been true for several years now. Until someone ups their game that tractor is in a class of it's own. Brandon won the farm show by 11 feet I believe. 11 feet in an indoor pull? That's exactly the monster pass you're talking about.

Now the pro stock class, someone is going to come on here and mention that last year the newer built Shelton tractor out of Chaos won. But you are correct that this year the new builds weren't even part of the finals. I do also agree that the current pro stock class doesn't have anyone that is far and away the best and everyone else is chasing them. The parity makes watching the class interesting.

I agree that Simon Sez is in a league of its own, but overall I think things have maxed out for now.

Things are not maxed out. It's just a matter of timing; horsepower will continue to grow.
