High Stakes Series type of event at Bowling Green.

Now that BG has started limiting the number entries ( Lmt. PS ) I would like to see BG run their events somewhat with the same format as the Fendt High Stakes Series. While I realize that the pullers are paying a portion of the purse running the Fendt Series, I think that BG could do it slightly different and make it work. How I see this working is this; limit all classes to 25 vehicles to be decided by the NTPA and the leadership of BG. Run what amounts to each session as an eliminator session with the top 3 to 7 top place finishers advancing to the Saturday evening session. I would probably bring back 14 from PS, 10 from Mini, TWD, Limited PS, 8 from SSD 4x4, FWD, Lt. Mod, and Mods. 6 from DSS, OSS, LSS, Unlimited Mods, and Semi's. I would consider bringing back SF if they are still a GN class. I believe that limiting the numbers to no more than 25 there would not be a need to add any more sessions. And I believe that there are several classes that don't have 25 in a class. The top 14 down to 6 in each class would be determined by a total of their combined distances in both sessions together. In the event of a rain out then the top finishers in a single session would be the qualifiers. This format would see a total of 106 vehicles coming back for the evening session, this would be rough fully 53 on either track. With hook times of 3.5 to 4 minutes between hooks the show should last between 3.5 to 4 hours long. I also think that this is the perfect place for the ring winners to be announced, win the Saturday evening session, win the ring. I can see fireworks, music and drama building towards the finals. With the purchase of the Outlaws by WPI and FPE there is a real possibility that the Bowling Green event could the best of the best one of a kind event. After 50 plus years in attendance, if that happened I'd stay home.why in the world would ya want to change the best pull in the world ?,its earned that title for a reason,it ain't broke,so dont fix it.do that at a struggling event ,not the best. |

Patches, I'm curious, tell me what you don't like about my idea. Doesn't seeing all the GN classes one session on a Saturday night have any interest to you? Or is the idea of limiting all classes to no more than 25 the issue for you? Thanks for your response. Dick Morgan www.PULLOFF.com Independent Pulling News |

Do not butcher this event.
People go because of what it is. Find a different event to transform.....this one is fine as is. |

Less for same

Will ticket prices drop proportionate to the reduction of the show ? Of course not. No one I personally know wants to see all the classes in the same show. That's why the vendor lines triple in length for certain classes at Louisville. |

My issue is limiting classes.a 25 limit cuts minis,twd,4wd,ps in half.my point being ,roger early won the dss one night,he wasn't nowhere near the top 25 gn points.he came to the biggest best baddest pull in the world, turned the wick up,split the block and won...a region/state guy got the job done. |

Right. I captured Boxer "Special" engine explosion in its apex and that 2008 photo still hangs on my wall. And Hans Jr. has one in his tractor pull shop. |
