Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 07, 2009 09:07AM
Does anyone have any pictures of Rusty Sevier or Shorty Kirkpatrick from Missouri in the late 60's or Early 70's? Also the original Cajun Queen or Ole Number One? Please post if you can. Thanks,

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 07, 2009 09:52AM
I believe someone posted these earlier

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 07, 2009 04:52PM
That was me that took those pictures around 1971-74.They were taken at Bethany,MO and Tulsa,OK. I know Cajun Queen III was taken at Tulsa.I regret not taking lots more pictures. I never did get one of Rusty's 1256 that had 756 emblems.. You younger guys sure missed some great times in pulling.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 07, 2009 10:35PM
Those chrome side shields on that 4020 remind me of the Logan brothers here in upstate N.Y, back in the early to mid seventies, anybody out there got any pictures of them?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 09, 2009 01:00PM
doe anyone know who used to pull in upstate ny with a real sharp looking 1066? sponcered by Dragoon's equipment? if so some pics would be cool. I remember watching it pull in north hampton ma. when i was mabee 10 or12 yeares old I remember it was real nice

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 09, 2009 03:04PM
Was it a 1206?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 11, 2009 08:16AM
i'm not sure it could have been a 1206 the most that I remember was it had Dragoons lettering on the side sheilds i don't think it was jim Hayes but not sure

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 11, 2009 11:09AM
My father went and pulled down there in the early 80s, had Dragoon's Farm Equipment on the side shields. Tractor is called Wildfire and is a 1206. I'll post a pic in a couple hours.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has original copies of pictures of James Shafer and the Wampus Cat? I am his Grand Daughter and he passed away 14 years ago. I remember going to those pulls and cheering him on. My daughter is turning 14 in a couple months and she never got to meet him or see his tractor. I have one of his trophies but I'm looking for pictures. Anything would be helpful.
Thank you,
~Michelle

I believe this one was on the "Good Ol Days Of Pulling" on Facebook..Theres others on there....This was probably at Hildreth,NE in the late 1970's.....Jim was a true gentleman and a great puller...The sheet metal and name still lives on on Rick Berhrendts 1066 IH PS from Ravenna,NE....I saw it pull last night at Richland,MO...

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors March 04, 2022 03:05PM
Hi Michelle, My name is BJ Heintzman. I am a nephew of Jim Shafer and I think I might have one or two pictures that I asked my Mom for and she is a sister to Jim. If you haven't found any pictures of Uncle Jim I could have some copies made and send them to you. My cell number is (509)728-3082 and I would love to talk to you about you family. Glad I was able to find some family on here.

Would like pics of possum holler express out of Osawatomie, KS around 1979. Lyle Williamson driver

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors March 23, 2018 02:25AM
I am looking for any picture circa 1978 of a tractor my husband, Ricky Orr, built and drove called Pullin' Ollie. It was an Oliver 88 row crop style, modified with a Ford 429 engine, and had pipes sticking out of the heads the size of coffee cans. He pulled in the TTPA Association around Oklahoma and Northern Texas. He competed at various places around Oklahoma including Burns Flat, Enid, Oklahoma City, Okmulgee, and I believe Gainesville, Texas. I would sure like to see some pictures of his tractor, or even of him in action going down the track. If anyone has anything, I would be so grateful! Thanks so much!

Hi, Thank you for those pictures.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 08, 2009 04:28AM
What is the date on picture of the Cajun Queen III?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 09, 2009 04:12AM
Cajun Queen III (4430) picture was taken around 1972-73 at Tulsa,OK.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 09, 2009 08:00AM
What kind of horsepower were these tractors running back in the day. I have heard they were the best in the business.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 09, 2009 05:02PM
Cajun Queen II probably was in the 600-800 horse range (twin turbo-466 CI) and pulled the 12,000 and 15,000 classes. It was tough. When Sydenstrickers quit pulling in the mid 70's it was sold to Lonnie Watkins in KY.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 14, 2009 03:36AM
i was pretty sure the early 4430 still had the 404 in it and they didnt put the 466 in them til the mid 70's but i might be wrong

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 14, 2009 12:51PM
My bad-I was talking about the 4430 Cajun Queen III being a 466.. I dont know if Cajun Queen II (4320) had a 466 but it was strong?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 15, 2009 10:33PM
I always thought the same 4430 had a 404, and the 466 came when the 40 series came out in the late 70's.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 16, 2009 04:20AM
i think the later 4430's had a 466 but i know the early ones were 404

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 16, 2009 01:10PM
All 4430's and 4630's were 404 cubes from the factory.Look at the post down below by Cajun Queen C. I.... Cajun Queen III (4430) and possibly Cajun Queen II (4320) most likely were 466 cubes courtesy of JD Company and Sydenstricker Impl Co..These were two strong running Deeres and were sure fun to watch.I sure hated seeing them leave MO in the mid 70's.

I've been around pulling since 1965 and its sure been fun coming from the days of the walk on sleds with a 6 mph pace tractor to what we have now.The late 1960's to the late 70's were some real great times in pulling.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors June 20, 2017 10:12PM
Do you remember Millard Bally? I am his son. Dad died in 1968, and my mom married Myron Riddle, another puller, in 1973. She is 87 and doing well. Would love some pics, stories!

Re: Heres Some Pictures From The 1970's December 12, 2009 02:23PM
He was definitely having problems with their speed that day. I usually took the pictures but I was pulling in the 12,000 class so he had to do it that day.Heres a link to more old pictures. There are 3 pages and you click on the 2nd line down to get to the other two.Its beside page 1.

Can you post that picture of Findley's Red Baron? Also, I'd like to know where that tractor is. Rusty Sevier's Red Rocket surfaced last year....

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 11, 2009 04:11AM
I thought Rusty's old tractor was pulling in north MO in a pro field or limited pro class?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 11, 2009 04:31AM
No. It'r running in IAMO's 11,000 Super Field 3LM class and NWMTPA's 12mph class.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 11, 2009 04:52AM
I am looking for a picture of my old pulling tractor that we pulled mainly with the MSTPA in the 1970's. It was a modified M Farmall with a twin turbo charged 427 Chevy engine. Any picture we had has disappeared over time and I thought this might be a chance to find someone that might have an old picture in their collection. Please contact Larry G Mudd at 660-909-6483 or larrygm123@embarqmail.com. Thanks

Did Carol Youngren pull a 1256 at the same time.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 13, 2009 12:09PM

Rob,the 1256 in the link above is your Dad for sure. The picture that I took at Bethany in 1972 could very easily be your Dad too.If I remember right there were several 56 series IH's in the 9000 class that day,Furnal,Youngren,Ditmar,Severe,Knoblock, etc. In fact I just found the results of the entire 1972 Bethany pull and will post them on here next weekend.Your Dad got 4th that day at 9000 as he lost some weights at 251 ft. Ron Bayless from ILL was the only 66 series IH in the 9000 class and won at 266 ft.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors February 04, 2013 05:20PM
Dion Cleaver and George Jackson chased those Deere's around Iowa/Nebraska with their 1206 & 1456, all thru the 70's getting the best of them bout every weekend.

I always enjoy looking at these old pictures. Anyone else have anymore, maybe like Dickie Sullivan's 1206, or Kolbs purple 856 (or maybe it was a 1456?), maybe of Spoo Bros 806, or even from up my way, of Behrendt's when they pulled w/ a 1456 in Nebraska Bush?

What ever happened to the Runnin Bear 6000 Ford of Bill Bear?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 16, 2009 02:34AM
Regarding the Cajun Queen cubes. If I recall the factories were a bit less adverse to pulling back in the day. It was my understanding that the 4320 Cajun 2 was more than the stock 404, which was somewhat unusal back then. I believe Van Botkins, who drove it was quoted in an old Puller Magazine article, that they did indeed work with J.D. engineers & he believed that some of the R & D of the 466, which I believe was 1st used on 8430 articulated tractors & later the 40 series row crops, was done with that pulling tractor. Whether it was running at 466 ? Who knows. As someone posted earlier, you younger guys missed pullings finest hour. The civility of this thread vs. some others kind of attests to that.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 29, 2009 05:20AM
Did it have some sort of cross flow head? Otherwise everything should have been on his left - no reason for anything to cross over to the right side of the engine....

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 29, 2009 05:34AM
The bubble is on the left side

yes it was. His name was Maurice Ebelhar

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 29, 2009 02:26PM
Ok with these tractors running 30.5s did they spin out at the end or did they sputter out?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 30, 2009 02:28AM
Lots of pullers ran 24.5's until the early-mid 1970's,then most switched to 30.5's.Yes,most of them spun them out. They didnt come down the track as fast as they do now.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 29, 2009 02:50PM

This isnt Super Chicken but its a poor picture of Bud Baird from KY pulling his 460 at the 1969 M&W Pull at LaPlata,MO.No turbo and notice the headers. It was sure cranking some rpms.It seems like I have a picture of Jim Ebelhars 460 from KY at this pull. The track was 500 ft long and we were backed up to it sitting on the tailgate of my Dads 67 Ford Ranger.

I saw the Super Chicken M at this pull and I have down that Gene Biddle? from Owensboro,KY was driving it in the 5000 class pulling 284'0' getting real high at the end of his run.It had headers,a 4 bbl,and I remember that it sure sounded good.I dont think that I took a picture of it but will look if I get a chance. It seems impossible that it was over 40 years ago.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors May 20, 2013 09:24AM
please send photos of Jim Eblhar to me At jdkramer@hpi-corporate.com

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 17, 2014 10:19AM
The Super Chicken M belong to my dad, Maurice Ebelhar, and Gene Bittel from the Owensboro, Kentucky area. Super Chicken II was Jimmy Ebelhar and the one in the picture

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 30, 2009 02:52AM
Yes the big bubble is on the left, but there is also a bulge that goes across from the bubble to the right side & down. If it had a crossflow head I'd say it could be for the crossover pipe...

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 30, 2009 03:17AM
No JD pullers had crossflow heads back then but they all had bulge hoods..You gotta remember that starting around1971 the Cajuns were all twin turbo so had some extra plumbing. In the 1980's Kenny Smith put a crossflow IH head on his JD and called it the Deere-Harvester.

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines December 30, 2009 04:30AM
Are there any pictures of the "Factory" Molines that were pulling in the late 60's and early 70's? These are actually from before I was born but I hear all the local guys talking about some factory Molines that one was on LP and the other on Alky or Gas that were running around the midwest then. Anyone?

Here Are Some Factory MM Pulling Pictures December 30, 2009 07:26AM
Here are some MM factory pulling pictures. One nice thing about being old is that I was around for all of this.I've been all afternoon rounding these pictures up and I have more somewhere.

This is Charles DeClerks" Power Without Smoke" G-1000 Vista puller from Taylorville,ILL.I took this picture around 1971-72 at Bethany,MO.It was a 504 if I remember right and it had as much power as anyone. If he hadnt broke a hub he would have won the 12000 class at the1969 M&W pull.Myron Riddle ended up winning it on a 1206 and DeClerk was 2nd.

Bill Newlon from Prophetstown,ILL pulled this G-1000 in the 15,000 Open class.I took this picture in Aug 1969 at Pleasant Hill,Illinois. When going to the Half Century Of Farm Progress Show this August at Rantoul I just had to circle by the fairgrounds at Pleasant Hill.It was fun to relive the memories of one the greatest pulls that I had ever seen at that time. The McKinnon family must have had 10 entries and they all ran. Barns McKinnon pulled a 1206 called *The Redbone Coon Skinner" and boy did it run.

I talked at length with Bill and he said the 800 irrigation engine made about 440 horses which was quite a bit for that time.I think he may have even farmed with it some.He was a super guy to visit with.It had a Schmull and Jennings LP turbo setup.Jennings Impl from Bement,ILL had lots to do with the factory MM's.They are still in business as I circled by them in August.Someone from there could tell you lots more than me.

Don Nolan from Owaneco,Illinois and the "Miss Fire # 1" G-1050 or G-1350? MM puller. This was at Spencer,IA in the early 70's and I did not take this picture.

Don Nolan at Louisvllle in 1971.I didnt take this picture .He must have been pulling the 15,000 class.

Dave Stangle at Louisville in 1971,probably pulling at 12,000.Another picture that I found on the internet.

Some of the MM pullers in the late 60's-early 70's that probably got help from MM.These were absolutely the greatest times in pulling and I'm glad that I was around back then,My only regret was not taking lots more pictures.

Perry and Stangle
Charles DeClerk
Don Nolan
Bill Newlon
J.R. and Greg Herriot
Merlin Holzer

Even More Old Pulling Pictures December 30, 2009 10:22AM

Charles DeClerk at Spencer,IA 1972.Another picture I found on the internet. The Allison Team in the background.

Gary Quick from Odin,Illinois and the Nestle Quick G-1000 at Greenville,ILL in 1972.I was there and took this picture. It had some national wins.

Sandy Furnal from Iowa in the 9000 class on a 806 at 1969 M&W Pull. Her husband Bob pulled a good running 1256 in the 12-15000 classes.I'm almost sure the guy in the M&W shirt is Elmo Meiners, head of M&W.Everyone hated to see him end the M&W pulls in the mid 70's.The lawn mower to the right is the pace tractor.

Don Nolan from Owaneco,ILL on his 12,000 lb 1256 IH at the 1969 M&W Pull.He got 3rd after winning the 1968 M&W Pull.In 1970-71 he switched over to pulling MM's.

Yours truly pulling his 12,000 lb 856 IH at Springfield,MO in 1974.Just a poor boy whom made it thru a complete season without losing a head gasket, twisting a pump shaft, melting a piston, getting the clutch,or losing a turbo. All these happened quite often in the early days.Several on here will know what I'm talking about.

Re: Even More Old Pulling Pictures December 31, 2009 04:24AM
BG IH How did you go about getting old photos to post ? I do not have a scanner, but wonder if the photo shop at the drug store can scan to a disc. I took several pics the first year of the Indy Super Pull and would love to share them some day.

Heres Pictures Of The Allison Teams December 31, 2009 10:25AM
About 10 years ago I scanned lots but not all of my old pulling pictures and have them saved on discs.Right now I dont have a scanner that will work with my Apple Minimac.I would say that a photo place could get them on a disc for you. Then you put them on to a free photo hosting place and move them here.We would all sure love to see them.

The Allison Teams UB and G-1000 MM's at Pleasant Hill,Illinois in 1969.There were so many people looking them over that you had to wait a long time to get a picture.1969 was the only year that the G-1000 was used as it was changed to a UB MM for 1970. I live over 300 miles from Pleasant Hill and I found out about this pull from our MM dealer. He was paying Bill Newlon $300 to come pull his G-1000 MM in my home town.Bill pulled at Pleasant Hill on Friday evening and in western MO on Saturday evening. There were no computers and no pulling magazines to find out about pulls back then.

Bill Wade pulling the Allison Teams G-1000 at the 1969 M&W pull.He got 3rd place in the 15000 Open at 404'4".

The Allison Team at Spencer,Iowa in 1972.I didnt take this picture.

Sonny Smiths "Belle Of Calhoun" 1256 IH puller at Pleasant Hill,Illinois in 1969.This hard running tractor pulled the 12000 and 15000 classes. Its got all the weights on for the 15000 class.

An unknown 1256 at Louisville 1971.Notice that there isnt a smoke machine.Another picture that I found on the internet.

Re: Heres Pictures Of The Allison Teams May 29, 2012 03:41PM
bg-ih do you have anymore pictures of the old belle of calhoun

Re: Heres Pictures Of The Allison Teams August 17, 2013 05:23AM
I think the 1256 is Tom Wright out of Indiana

Re: Even More Old Pulling Pictures November 29, 2013 10:29AM
BG IH I bought the 806 that Sandy Furnal is pulling in the picture in 1973. I Farmed with it for 2 yrs and traded it for a 1456. One of my friends then bought it and they traded it at Truro Farm equipt. in Truro IA. for a 1086 in 1978. I haven't been able to track it down now, but if it's still alive someone doesn't know what the tractor really is.

Re: Here Are Some Factory MM Pulling Pictures December 31, 2009 04:48AM
BG-IH:

What classes were these, like a pro stock? Did all of these molines have turbo's? How fast were they running down the track back then?

Re: Here Are Some Factory MM Pulling Pictures December 31, 2009 09:50AM
You've got to remember that back in 1969 pulling was just getting going good. There were no 4WD trucks,no TWD trucks, very few Modified tractors,no Hot Farms,no Limited Pros,no Pro Stocks-etc.

Usually at the big pulls the following tractor classes were pulled 5000,7000,9000,12,000,and 15,000.Often the 15,000 was an open class where the Allison Team could pull their two tractors, plus there were 4020 JD's with 8V-71 Detroits,MM's with 800 Irrigation motors, there was a 1206 with a big V-8 IH.,etc.When more and more Mods got built they had their own classes at 5000,7000,9000,and the 12,000 was Unlimited where the farm tractors could mix it up with the Allisons-etc.

The factory MM's were all running 1 turbo. In 1969 the ones with 504 cube engines pulled the 12,000 class and the ones with the 800 cube engines pulled the 15,000 Open class.I believe the 1969 M&W pull ran either a 6 or 8 mph pace tractor.Quite a few of these tractors had plenty of power to run 10-12 mph so werent always full throttle.Another thing to remember is there was absolutely no safety equipment.

Another thing is that back then is almost all pulling tractors were hauled on 2 ton farm trucks. There were no duallys with gooseneck trailers,no semis with enclosed haulers, etc. The Allison team used to create quite a stir when they came to pulls with a semi and a flatbed trailer with both tractors on.

In the late 60's-early 70's we pulled the following classes in MO and KS,4500,5500,7000,9000,12000,and 15000.Tractors couldnt be stripped below their factory shipping weight. In about 1972 the 5000 and 7000 Mod classes were started.

The first twin turbo tractor ever,N D Harrison from Pittsfield,Illinois on his twin turbo 220 AC.If you pulled an Allis you went to Harrisons for your pulling stuff as they were an AC dealer and had some company backing for pulling. At the 1969 M&W pull this 220 got 8th in the 12,000 class and 5th in the 15000 class.I remember watching him chain it in gear before he took off.

17 Year old Randy Vallee? from Farmington,Illinois on his late Dads 4020 JD with a 318 Detroit. At the 1969 M&W pull he got 2nd place in the 15,000 Open with a pull of 405'8",.His Dad had gotten 2nd place the year before. There were two other 4020's there with 318 Detroits that finished 4th and 9th.

Re: Here Are Some Factory MM Pulling Pictures May 22, 2013 06:11PM
I was told that the G1000 that bill newlons had with a allison in it was bought and will be puling soon

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines December 31, 2009 12:59PM
Some very interesting pictures Fordman. It looks like several are of the late Lloyd Wewils UB and M-5 MM. I also see Tenhouses 705 MM. Whatever happened to it? Whose narrow front G-1000 in the first set of pictures? It has all the factory MM front weights which are worth some money these days.

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines December 31, 2009 01:23PM
you are correct about the m-5 and the 705 of harolds the little minnie was dads pride and joy back then
and harold was a close neighbor to us brother steve pulls a g1000 in ill now and i run a 9600 ford with ifpa
heres a couple other photos from p-hill when a mod tractor blew a flywheel and chopped it up
i have several old pics from dad and harolds haydays going to try to get them on a site for all to enjoy soon

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines December 31, 2009 02:33PM
wonder why the wheel is off,if the flywheel broke.i guess when the steel flywheel rule was adopted, someone had this guy in mind.

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines December 31, 2009 02:59PM
I always enjoyed seeing your Dad pull the M-5..... I remember hearing about that accident at Pleasant Hill, looks ugly.......Didnt several get hurt pretty bad?..... I'll be looking forward to lots more pictures of the early days of pulling in Illinois..... Do you have any of the McKinnons-Hill Brothers-Lucky Ed Miller?

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines January 01, 2010 01:46AM
i was only like 10 or 12 at that time but i think the hub broke on the back wheel then tractor over revved avd flywheel gave way

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines January 01, 2010 04:47AM
that makes sense now, thanks for all the old pics.

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines January 01, 2010 05:47AM
I was there that day in Pleasant Hill IL. when that tractor broke in two. I remember the driver going off the tractor holding onto the steering wheel as the tractor broke in two. Don't remember if he was hurt or not, but a woman in the stands was hit by a piece of metal in the leg and lost her leg below the knee later.

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines February 24, 2016 09:01AM
My dad never would talk about that accident I still have the engine from that tractor.

Re: Looking for pictures of Factory Molines February 24, 2016 10:46AM
just so everyone knows what was left of the flywheel was tested by manufacture and didn't meet what little spec. I just looked in our paperwork I found the final report in my safe. my dad was one of the best in the sport and that change some lives for ever.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 30, 2009 05:30AM
Yeah, I didn't think about where the bottom turbo might be...

I remember reading about the Deere Harvester. Is that the same Kenny Smith that now builds parts?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 30, 2009 08:47AM
That's not the same Kenny Smith,Kenny Smith with the (DERRE HARVESTER) lives in OHIO ,and farms" HUGE ROW CROP". Back then i remember hearing them announce at L-VILLE, that him and his family farmed around 5000 acers.Kenny Smith(KENNYS PULLING PARTS) is from KENTUCKY and his shop is located on HYWAY 27 between Somerset and Stanford.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 30, 2009 05:14AM
If I remember right the p pump would not fit because of the oil cooler so the moved it back towards the rear of the block.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 31, 2009 09:15AM
does anybody out there in tractor pullin world know where these old tractors went? the cajun queens did they get scrapped or they sitting in a barn somewhere. the mckinnons had a bunch tractors.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 31, 2009 11:23AM
The Cajun 2 was supposedly the same tractor Dave Schier won the 7000 points title with in 79 or 80. Dale Haley's old D-21 Orange Comet was put back in the field & was last seen all repainted with a cab on it a few years back. Dave was still pulling his Allison locally until a year or 2 ago.

I really dont know what happened to the Cajun I 4020. As mentioned Cajun II 4320 went to Schrier in Wiscosin. In the mid 1970's the Cajun III 4430 went to Lonnie Watkins in Kentucky and just seemed to disappear after a few years.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors June 18, 2012 06:55AM
hello and thanks for the post.
We work at Sydenstricker Implement Co. The Canjun Queen has been retired and put back in to origial condition. Grinds feed daily for the cattle farm that is owned by Sydenstricker Implement. It is a joy and pleasure to hop on the old girl and use daily, as we can recall in our memory what this tractor did and stood for.

Sincerely,
Big John

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors June 18, 2012 07:02AM

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors May 30, 2013 03:27PM
John Sandall ran that original Cajun Queen all over Nebraska and Western Iowa. Seen him not get off the line one night at the Wayne State Fair Grounds in Wayne, Nebraska. Couldn't get it out of reverse after he backed up to the hook on to the Hooterville Trolley. Had to be pulled off the track and never pulled that night. Loved his old motto, "If she goes, she goes, if she blows, she blows!"

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors August 16, 2013 02:54PM
Hello, my dad remembers the Cajun queen and my grandfather owned the hooterville trolley and we were wondering if you had any pictures of our old tractor sled and if so it would be greatly appreciated if you would e-mail them to us a tentingerfarms@gmail.com thank you

Mr. Kenady, are these some of your relatives in these pictures?

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors November 28, 2013 02:46PM
Those were out in the Bridgeport,NE area..I think the M Farmall is Pete Lusetto and the 1206 puller is some relation to him..

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 09, 2013 08:10AM
Here's another one. Eugene Bogart from St.Thomas, Ontario 1977ish. Anyone have pictures of Jim Weaver's 9600?

I believe they bought it from Eugene.

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors December 10, 2013 08:08AM
That is a great picture. I grew up watching Snyders with the Blue Mule in the late 70's and early 80's in northeast PA.

Thank You!

Re: Looking for pictures of old pulling tractors September 06, 2021 08:20AM
This is my 48th year of tractor pulling photography. 13 states (Contoocook NH to Hutchison MN to Alta IA to Brandenburg KY to Fisherville VA) plus Ontario & Quebec with numeroius locations in between.

Over the decades, you have seen a bunch of my photos and story coverage in "the Puller" magazine. Including the "Legends" series stories, during the past decade.

However, I have numerous notebooks full of my original 35 mm and 2"x2" film. And resulting numerous notebooks of those remaining photos, that I did not sell. It is all
organized. But, it does take time to (sometimes) discover what particular puller may have been at any particular pull, especially when their photo is not in a notebook,
as then I need to 'read' the negatives, which is difficult and very time consuming.
I have converted some of them to DVD (great expense) and they are still on my website. Keep scrolling backwards to find those events.
And this summer, I converted another big group, that I need to get posted. Those cover '77 to '90, from Cayuga, Ontario to Twin Creek (Inwood, Ontario) with
Fisherville VA, Essex Jct, VT and more Syracuse NY, in between.

Studying through this "thread", here on Labor Day 2021, after having photographed 4 pulling events during the past 3 days in 3 states and the previous week at Half Century of Progress show at Rantoul, IL for all 3 nights (man, was that hot enough weather?!), I am taking it easy today.

So, concerning this "thread", I have action photos of many of the pullers discussed.
Some of them, you have seen in "the Puller" Legends stories, such as Charles DeClerck, Don Nolan, Fred Mende of the Allison team, Noble Harrison. Some of those
published photos are ones those pullers supplied to my to complement their story. But I usually have their original photo I photograhed of them decades ago, too.

Starting at the top of this thread, here is the list of action pulling photos I know I have:
Cajun Queen II = no. However, as noted later in this "thread", Dave Schrier bought the tractor, winning a national 7SS championship and have its photos.
Don Berry - MF 1150 and Ol #1 2805.
As a side note, my '73 to '76 film negatives have always been in a large manila envelope. After making photo enlargements about 15 years ago for Bill Gelfius
IH 460, I cannot find the envelope, as apparently, I missplaced it. So this effects NY's Logan Bros. 4020, Art Arfons turbine in Cockshutt sheet metal.
Question for Andre Bedard: Did you buy your 1206 from Harold Dahlgren? His 1206 sure had a very unique candy apple with some sort of 'fleck' in it, that really
captured the eye and was very photogenic, especially when the sun was on it. You IH guys, I would love to see you do likewise. I have Dahlgren's photos.

Jim & Dennis Wilson, both versions of Little American.
"Looking for pictures of ss4430 from Michigan" = do you mean Ed Boyer's "Super John"?
Dickie Sullivan - I am loaded with his photo, even some as he drove competitor's tractors. And I have oodles of his competitors, too. Those are already posted,
such as Hamburg NY (great quality), BG, Syracuse. And more of them in the aforementioned new group to get posted to my website.
Ken & Mike Smith Deere Harvester. Boy, do I ever remember heartbreak when at 7SS finality hook at Syracuse, early breakage in the class cost the championhip.
Ron Perry's tractors piloted by Dave Stangle and Dan Walsh. Already posted. But, great photos of them coming with the '77 Cayuga, ON posting.

"Anonymous user" = That Eugene Bogart photo sure looked very familiar, even after 44 years. I went to my '77 photo album and their it is. Photo # C-77-20-25A.
"Great Picture", Thank You for the photo compliment.

And I have several action photos of that tractor under Charles Snyder ownership along with his 'lil' mule' 8210 and wife Jean on her 7000 SS.
Bob Raycraft's D-21 Mama's Thoroughbred, may already be posted. But I know it is coming in the next oldies posting.
And likewide with Todd Weant EZ Duz It. Another Gladhill JD dealership built SS. I think some are posted & think more are coming.
Gary Weingate, I believe is already posted in at least 1 of the 2 oldies past postings. He might be in the next posting (umm, there's like 900 photos).

George Kubeck. What can I say about George. Perhaps, master showman of the day!!! I mean, a 5010 was a big tractor. Let alone with a huge bellowing smoke
column and a front end off the ground with an impressive billowing cloud of dust behind him. Like at '75 Angelica NY. I mean, like just Super awesome!!!!!! There, that
should make you happy jd43. You know, this reminscing is showing the pulling world yours and my age - LOL!!!!
But, that goes along with last night as Ray (or was it Roger - I never was good at knowing which brother I was talking with) Lowry, where discussing the 'good ole days of
of pulling'. And man, were the 'younger' pullers ever listening, as they always do when the subject comes up. Lowry's "Sudden Impact" TWD are in next oldeis posting.

Colin Broughton, 66 & 86 series SSD. And his brothers in the early days, too. Such as Sid's 427 IH-Super M Mod. Those in that group of misplaced negatives.
Pit Photos that "walker mtd" posted = I have all them in action. Conner Bros. "Bad Medicine' in alky JD & White 2-180 are in the next oldies posting.
Jim Hayes 806 is already posted.
Jim Weaver sharp, clean Ford 9600, I think is posted - Syracuse?. And more coming in next posting with '82 Fisherville VA posting.
Allison pullers. I have tons of those pullers. Many already posted. Which includes the famous EJ Potter. (Visited with his son Jack this summer at Ionia MI) EJ, I believe,
is the only puller to ever have pulled with the Allison W-24. I have those photos. Not certain if they are posted - think so? More Allisons coming in next oldies posting.

"1468 farmer" - Here's 1 for you. Back when I was young, and just started photographing the pulling action ('73, upon university graduation), our local Penn Yan, NY
IH dealer, Milt von Hahmann, in conjuction with a close farmer friend, took the almost new 1468 pulling in the local scene. But, even then, it required turning that fuel screw. The 1468 in the naturally apirarted clases could belch smoke from the twin stacks but it would soon drift away. However, for the turbocharged classes, the single stack certainly sent the smoke vertically much, much higher. That DV550 was a pretty good terror out there with its 20.8 x 38's and narrow front, winning it's share. I have those
photos in my notebook, however, the negtives are in the misplaced envelpe. Today's modern cameras are so good, that when re-photographing the original photo, the
coarseness of the original photo paper easily shows up and distorts the overall re-photographed image, that it is not viable to make prints, let alone photo enlargements.

Hope you have found this to be interesting.
If you think I may have your 'old tractor / truck', you can email me through my website, DaveDannPhotos.com
Time I need to see to lots of other deskwork.

And if you are wondering why I do not have any 2021 photos posted on my website yet, in addition to being very busy, trying to find a new photo library with editing tools to cooperate with my new camera, is being super time consuming. However, the qualtiy and immense wheel speed with a clear focused pulling vehicle, is astounding and even so at night when there is sufficient track lighting, to allow shooting without an external flash. Wheel speed duja vue!!!!!!!!!!

Blue Mule has a new owner and still pulls at Lorah's pulls in Walnutport Pa. Does anyone have any photos Of George Kuback's 5010 that he used to pull in the 70's? He and the Snyders where about the only Super Stocks that pulled in Northeastern Pa. I remember George going out the gate at Harford in about 1976. That was the first tractor that had ever done that and he has done it many times since. An old guy came in the local Agway all shook up and said a tractor just passed him on Rt. 6 it was George trying his out after some work on it. That tractor sat at Stitzle's yard for a long time. Story is that Brian pulled it once and about messed his pants and parked it. Carl Shuler in western Pa. bought it ran it and then the rear parts where used in their Super Moose 4955. A good web site to look up names of current and past pullers is Pulling Reference.com. Beware if you're on a back road in the Tunkhannock Pa. area and you see a 6030 in the rear view it could be a Moose or a Giant.

Great video on YouTube machinery Pete interviews Eddie Sydenstricker. He talks about Van Botkins and him taking a new 404 block to a machine shop and getting it bored out using Cummins sleeves and IH pistons to get 466 ci. Deere got wind of the engine and used it to build their version that went in production with the 40 series. Cajun 1. 4020 works everyday on Sydenstrickers cattle farm. Video is great. I remember Van Botkins driving those tractors when I was a kid he was so cool, not just a hot dog but the hot dog man himself! Great video!
