So is X-factor the new sled for the great plains pulls? Whats the story on it? New owner, new sled? The way it pulled last night made me never want to hook to it. Hopefully it was just a new operator and he'll get it setup better. Any other thaughts? |

Here is my thoughts on the x factor;
Good sled. Great people operating it. Did it pull hard? Yep. Could it have pulled easier. Yep. Will the guys running it change there setting. Don't know. But I would bet my tractor that everything was the same from tractor to tractor in that class. What else do you want but a fair pull. Read the sled, track, and anything else and pull. The sled will not beat u |

That sled has hooked a lot of superfarms before. New track for them. I bet it's a different story next time. |

There was a few outside of great plains. Tim Dunklau and Mike Langon with a 4010 and 4020 which I think are Northeast Nebraska Tractors in the lighter classes and a Justin Johannsen with a 4440 but I didn't catch whether he was Northeast Nebraska or West Central Iowa. Then there was also a Theiss with an 806 pretty sure he is a Northeast Nebraska guy. There was also the Harms boys from West Central Iowa with that 1070 Case. As far as new tractors with Great Plains Lee and Brian Blankespoor added another Horse to the stable by building a light open farm 1066 called the Jewel.
Here is some more unofficial results 7500 Open Farm Myron Blankespoor 706IH 274'50 Nathan Bottjen 1466IH 274'42 Tim Dunklau 4020JD 274'30 Dick Dubbelde 706IH 274'86 Terry Van Mannen 4020JD 271'55 Lee Blankespoor 1066IH 269'84 Mike Langon 4010JD 264'4 Marv Huisman 210AC 257'52 Mike Kats 560 Did not catch measurement 8500 Open Farm Jason Sweeter 1066IH 298'98 Jeff Blankespoor 786IH 293'16 Nathan Bottjen 1466IH 290'48 Mitch Larsen 4255JD 290'15 Thiess 806IH 289'1 Junior De Yager 4040JD 288'74 Duane Burke 1066IH 288'36 Dick Dubbelede 706IH 288'3 Jared Dubbelde 4020JD 286'37 Myron Blankespoor 706IH 286'11 Tim Dunklau 4020JD 279'11 Justin Johannsen 4440JD 279 Greg Matthiesen 4430JD 278'1 |

Anyways I think it was a really solid start to the 2010 season, lots of iron, good weather, good track, and good food. I hope everyone had a good time for a good cause, and to fans and tractor pullers alike spread the word to your friends and hope to see you next year. Also on a side note I would like to invite everybody to the Thunder in the Valley Outlaw truck and tractor Pull in Rock Valley Friday and Saturday July 9 and 10 if you want to see a premiere outlaw tractor pull you do not want to miss this one. Well its getting late keep it between the chalk line, your chain tight, and leave the flag man in the dust see you all in Alvord next week for their first ever Great Plains Pull action gets under way at 3:00 come check it out good night everybody. |

Re: rock valley pull

I just want to send a great big thanks to everyone who helped make the Charity Tractor Pull a success. With your help we raised over $13,000 for the American Cancer Society! Thanks to the people in the stands who came out to watch and eat. Thanks to the tractor pullers who came from near and far to show off or try out there tractors. Thanks to all the helpers on the track. Thanks to the Rock Valley Tractor Pull Committee for the use of there awesome facility. Thanks to Marv Manifold for bringing his little skid and tractors for the kiddie pull. Thanks to Gary Sabotka and the Red Rock Skid, Thanks to Kim Van Ginkel and the X Factor Skid. We couldn't pull this type of pull off without the help of alot of people and for this I am truly thankful that so many people are willing to help such a worthy cause. Thanks again. |
