Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get more cubes out of a dt360 truck engine? Any crank/rod or piston combinations? Thanks

I have both the truck and tractor engines in my possession I have a brand new overhaul kit for the truck engine I also have all brand new oil squirrels.. can I just put my truck overhaul kit in the afternoon block or is there special machine work to be done... did the swap into my pickup truck been ready to get my truck back on the road again

If you use the 4" bore from the truck engine and the longer stroke crank from the ag engine it will give you 380 some cubes. Matt

The Block on a 360 is a couple of inches shorter than the 466 block, pretty sure the crank will not fit in a 360 block.

The ag 360 crank will fit in the truck block. The truck block comes with 4" bore whereas the ag block comes with 3.875" bore and a 5.085" stroke. When the 4" bore is mated with the 5.085" stroke, it gives you approx. 386 cubes. Either set of rods will work but some machine work in recutting the pistons is needed. Used 4" bore truck pistons are all over. Always thought this would be a fairly cheap setup for the 410 cube LLSS class. Only hang up is finding the ag crank. Also finding the turbo exhaust manifold is difficult but building a header would be a easier option.

Matt, I assume just cut the top off the piston and valve pockets to make up for the .334 longer stroke?

Here's another way. Put the 360 truck pistons and rods in the AG 360 motor and get 415!!! Its easy to do all Stock IH parts.

Doing the math that is only 385.32 same as if you put the AG crank in the truck block correct? Does the truck sleeves slip into the AG block?

4. 00 X 5.5 makes 415!!! The rod journals are smaller on the truck rods. Back stroke the AG crank to get your deck height and bore out the Ag sleeves. No modifications to the pistons. If you do all your home work it can be figured out.

I guess I don't know where to find a 5.5" ag crank. All I have ever delt with are 5.085" stroke. What application are the 5.5" cranks in?

ask guys in europe, they make from a 359 (simulair to a 360)6.8 ltr, with volvo sleeves and deere pistons

Keep in mind the truck block is not the same as the Ag block. Truck block measures .300 shorter deck height. The sleeves are shorter too. It also has no place to bolt on the stock tractor fuel filter brackets. Its casted different.

Using ag block and crank with 4in bore gives you 385 cubes, using ag block and crank with 806 pistions 41/8 bore gives you 407. the truck crank has 2.5 in rod journal the ag has 3in. so if you offset grind your crank a 1/2 in and use the truck rod with 41/8 bore it gives you 444 cubes i have used all these set ups and have had no problems. the last one runs pretty good its like a small block 466. I have beating many 466 with that set up its got along arm in iti would not turn it over 4000rpms though. just some ideas. the truck block is .300 shorter so getting a long arm out of it is kinda hard.
