Georgia Senate runoff of critical importance November 06, 2020 02:49AM
It is likely both Senate seats in Georgia will come down to a runoff. I hope the Georgia State Legislature requires strict (aka- in person) voting. The GOP should flood every Atlanta precinct with poll watchers who are outside from start to finish with tickers (or video camera if allowed) to verify the number of voters in every precinct in Atlanta and other places like adjacent DeKalb Co. Would it be expensive yes? Would it be a documented method of validating who shows up with the # of votes cast in each precinct? Yes.

I completely agree, the Senate is what will make or break this country. If the Democrats get both the Senate and the Presidency then we will see radical change in this country the likes of which we've never seen. They will stack the Supreme Court with left wing ideologues. Once we get a biased (not left leaning, but blatantly biased) court we will see Executive Order after Executive Order and our rights and liberties will rapidly disappear. The Second Amendment won't matter because the Executive Order will simply be ruled constitutional because they've stacked the courts and they interpret the Constitution however they see fit. Your gun rights? They'll be gone. Free Speech... they'll tell us what's hate speech and what's intolerance and there will be no free speech, especially if it's deemed negative towards any "protected" group. Religion... well that will be deemed hate speech too.

The Republicans did absolutely NOTHING when they had all the power... the Democrats won't sit on their thumbs and do the same.

The outcome of the Senate will decide is we have gridlock (good) or the fundamental transformation (very bad) that Obama eluded too.

sounds a little extreme dont ya think.

Why would they need to use executive orders if they control the executive and the legislative? The question of the constitutionality of an order is no different than a law. Y'all need to calm down, you sound like a bunch of hysterical chicken littles right now. I heard the same hysterics when Obama was elected. Turned out Obama was the best gun salesman in the history of guns.

the Morgans are right the rest of you nay sayers can not see what has and is happening, Hitler was Man of the yr just before the fires consumed so many, with your heads in the sand it is exactly what they want, til it is too late, which it is already, -- soft ware for an election, come on, it can be controlled and changes from any where any time.

Because the Legislative branch doesn't want to legislate. They care about being reelected and being career politicians (remember there are no term limits for them) They don't want to make laws that upset the apple cart. They want status-quo and then they don't have to defend decision (either right or wrong to they constituency) Did you watch any of the Supreme Court hearing for Amy Coney Barrett? The senators seem to think she makes the laws. Question after question she had to repeatadly state that she doesn't write the laws, she just makes sure the laws line-up with our Constitution. The goal of Senators is simply to protect their jobs... not make laws.

Executive Orders... well they only get two terms any ways. The Democrats are already talking about ways to ensure that a Republican won't stand a snowballs chance in hades to get elected President again in our lifetime. They are openly talking about adding the District of Columbia as a State... and Puerto Rico as a state. Who do you think those electoral votes will go to? If we gain those two states what do you think the odds of them having Republican representation in the House and Senate are? I'm going to say pretty slim. If those things are accomplished by the Democrats them they will have a majority that won't disappear. The Democrats are also openly talking about splitting California in to multiple states to gain representation in the Senate.... again, these are things they are saying out in the open (just like many of them are advocating for packing the Supreme Court). Many of these ideas are longshot ideas but it should give you an inclination of the direction they want to go. The Democrats are good at moving the needle to the left and getting things done so don't underestimate them.

This isn't the same Democrat party of 12 years ago. Back then they would never utter the words socialists about themselves... now we have vocal congress members (The Squad) that openly say they are Democratic Socialists. Obama moved the needle to the left, now the extreme leftists in the party have more and more say and they want to really move the needle to the far left. Kamala Harris is a radical leftest and if she gets the senate I think they'll push as far left as they can and it will completely reshape this country.

I'm not saying it will happen over night but the pace of our leftward creeping will continue to increase. Remember way, way, way back like 3 or 4 years ago when people knew what gender was? Now? It happened pretty fast didn't it. Right now 1 in 4 Gen Z identify as Gender Non-Normative. The creep to the left has dramatically increased. A radical left leaning Harris administration with a Democrat controlled senate will increase that pace.
