I have worked with Davey and his family for a number of years and I can personally say that Jd Fan is full of ****. He cares about how well my tractor performs just as much as I do. 125k isn’t cheap?! No crap where are you gonna get a competitive tractor for cheap? And if he said he did something or put certain parts in that’s what he did. Not to mention he is precise and meticulous, it won’t

Yeah, it’s not that I dislike the organization but I pull with them only a handful of times a year. So won’t be buying a turbo to swap out just for a few hooks.

I can’t make the meeting but with that said, I can see a positive here and there to having one but at same time if that rule comes into effect I will not be buying a turbo to pull with that organization.

I’m gonna say no. I believe it was at a “gas and steam” show. The classes followed the rules of the Interstate Tractor puller association, but was not a points of hook of any sort. Guess you could say it was basically a “brush” pull

Turbocharger must be under hood. See drawing for maximum turbocharger size. LINK HERE Turbocharger must have a restrictor plate 1/4 inch thick with a hole no larger than 2.8" in diameter to be measured 2" from the compressor wheel blade. All air must go through the 2.8 turbo inlet restrictor plate. No oval or oblong shaped holes permitted! There must be only one turbo going through one pressure s

Ed I think they are running dragon rules. Derek Brinkley has an inter cooler on his tractor, don’t know about the others though. I think the class is basically a 466 pro farm and if you want to run a cooler or not that’s up to you. I could be wrong though

My tractor is about 7800-8000lb bare. Anything more than 7-800hp I think you’ll start having problems with factory transmission. I had a billet six speed built by atlas but just converted it to a 3 speed (still atlas) has worked very well for me. Had a lot of lower gears that I never pulled anymore is the reason for switching.

What is general opinion on what difference between boost and exhaust pressure should be? 10lb? 15? Running consistently about 20 25 difference currently with a 101 exhaust housing. How much closer would it be with something like a 110?

Need a new turbo, had/have a Turbonetics and sent it out to Turbonetics to be rebuilt and received a phone call saying it was beyond repair. Which I find a little odd because it was working when I took it out of the tractor, so Im figuring they want to sell me a new one. But anyways none the less is there something better out there? Really have no complaints with Turbonetics and they are definite

The atlas seems to work good, haven't had any slip issues with it. Setup was a little tedious getting the stands to the correct measurement but not difficult. My 4430 had a syncro tranny and since I've had the motor back from REI it just cranks out to much horse and keeps breaking the 8th gear shift collar. Plus I need some different gearing.

What are the gear ratios for a syncro tranny? Looking to put a billet 3 or 4 speed in and need to know where to start. Anyone care to share what ratios work for them? Tractor is a 4430 with an atlas pedal slipper with 540 ci. Most tracks are power tracks
Thanks

I have a 4430 with a wet clutch and looking to put in a slipper clutch. I have heard a number of times that I should get a 4020 or 4320 clutch housing because they will bolt right up, eliminating the need to seal off my current one and having to machine a hole for the linkage. Any truth to that? If it is possible will it fit a Crower without any problems or other machine work?
