I have to agree on the Perkins in farm trim, we had one in 2-85 White and it just worked.
I have often wondered why Oliver/White didn't use the 3400 series Hercules in place of the Waukesha, I think that engine in a 1655 (and up with turbo) would make a heck of a nice, reliable farm tractor. Just fun to think about since White owned Hercules from 1967 to 1986 and I am kind of partial

The White 2-155 also had the big Herc. and there was an Oliver self-propelled chopper that used it as well.
Patches, are you thinking of the 2-150 which had a NA 585 Moline in it? I can't recall any other big Whites that were NA.

I think any innovation in sled design would have to work towards moving away from the heavy reliance on pushdown/grouser bars on the pan to stop the bigger classes. Something that increased drag but is repeatable; gradual and doesn’t tear up the track up like grouser bars. If done right, it may fulfil the need of both camps for speed and having to lug it out at the end of the track.

Remember, we are talking about Lt. Pro here with a 540 CID limit that makes it easier for something other than IH and Deere to be competitive. I think the Blue teams out of Pennsylvania would have something to say about not being competitive and there is a V8 Massey in Ohio that can run with anyone. I think it is only a matter of time till somebody comes out with 505 Cummins; and hopefully we

As part of the show or just during the show? I remember a skid steer operator being on two wheels more than four while he was doing his scraping job but I don't remember it being part of the show. It was more like just how the guy operated trying to move the dirt back as quickly as possible.

Around two weeks ago, I visited Yoder Popcorn in Shipshewana, In. Really nice store with friendly people and Xtra Butter was setting there (without powerplant) on sales floor. Many different popcorns in different packaging available. Good stop if you are in the area.

I wonder if this team would be a good candidate for the 5.0 prostock class? Might be a good fit with the stated goals above of less time on the road and the price of being competitive in big pro.

To me, the bigger question (and the risk) is what did the fire do to the casting particularly if it got really hot and then doused by the local VFD.

Those rules are interesting, the OSHA approved ROPS might be a struggle to find, but I’d like to see this happen in here Ohio I’d be all in
So assuming you would stick with a Massey, what engine would you run to stay under the 426 CID limit?

It is Diesel only today because of this tractor. When the rule for Diesel only was put into place, Fool's Gold was making some Hp gains with a limited but smart dollar spend. I think the NTPA was afraid that somebody with unlimited funds would come up with a dominate gasoline tractor and they wanted to avoid the whole Diesel vs Alcohol Super Stock mess.

QuotePrice the damned event so it comes out in the black. It's that easy. Don't nickel and dime people to death.....there is nothing more irritating.
It isn't that easy, especially for a fair. You have to balance to price of gate admission with what the attendee gets for their entertainment dollar. In other words, on tractor pull night, maybe 1 in 50 people are actually there t

From a puller’s standpoint, is has always ticked me off to no end to have to pay to get into an event facility. I am there to pull, be part of the show and I have to pay hook fees to the association in addition to that gate admission.
As a fan, an open and accessible pit is vital to my fan experience. I want to wander around and look at the work and craftmanship of the vehicles; see the

For those of us not in the know, what was the technical, safety or competition reason behind the pump mounting rule?
Light Pro Stock and Diesel Super Stock:
1. Fuel Injection pump must remain in stock location
I assume it is a continuation of the injector line length rule that was put in place and then rescinded?

This seems really odd, especially since they left the pull go on. I could understand it a little more if there was a noise ordinance in place or a general curfew but there is nothing in their fair book. The only mention is that the main gates close at 10:00 but like you I have been to many fair pulls where the gates are closed at a certain time but you are still wandering out of there well afte

Thanks MacKenzie for posting this. I am not sure what happened with your original post but the link is fixed now.
This is one of my favorite classes, particularly at this point in time. All it needed was a few more safety items and a max engine displacement in the 400 CID or less range and I would have a tractor in it today.
