Ocala from a different angle
The above video is a different view of Ocala. Two points:
1) Watch at 5:55 in the video. Could this be the precursor to a brand new class? Would this be a popular class for pullers and/or fans if adopted?
2) A totally different view of the Mary Kehl's hook starting at 7:10. Here's my concern- when the mini breaks from the s

What is the thought process behind the 48 lug rule? If somebody wants to try 96 lugs why not?
Does this mean old style triple cuts will be illegal?
I agree!!
What is wrong with 49 or 50 or even 100 cuts? It is innovation.

Maybe to help get more Case 504s, CIH 505s, and MF 510? Just purely a guess. I would like to see that done for those odd engines that parts are not as readily available. Leave the IH and JD at 466. Anything else can run 510 until they start kicking butt and parts and builders for those brand parts start become more commonplace like the JD or IH parts. Other motorsports do that. No reason tractor

And yet, dozens of CASE (sheet metal) that are Cummins Powered from the factory, powered by an IH.
Its all what you can live with,
Like a General Lee, powered by a LS
The times, we live in.
I agree that all red tractors should not be allowed to have CIH hoods. A fuss was raised to me about having CIH sheetmetal on a Case!

You can lay the blame directly on the lack of leadership from the NTPA. The class should never have been 680 and the NTPA killed what was one of the strongest things that tractor pulling had going. Brand loyalty, with their ridiculous and poorly thought out rule that allows " any motor, any sheet metal rule" they killed any true brand loyalty. When a fan finds out that the off

Bring back the pulloffs!! Took some fans for a first time to Wisner. They asked right away, isn't there a finish line? Told them how it used to be 300' and now it is as far as they can go. They said they would like it better to bring back the pullout. They also said the distances pulled need to be posted more often during a class pulling so they can keep it in perspective. Also put a pi

Many years ago (1980 maybe) I was taking pulling event photographs for a local newspaper in Elkhorn Wisconsin NTPA pull, I was at the big end of the track, maybe 330 foot. A Super Stock 4320 broke his hitch at about 250 foot mark. The tractor launched and all 4 tires were off the ground, By the time he got stopped the tractor was past 330 mark. I had to scramble just to ge

Never have said that sled has hurt anyone yet. Just another recent example of another sled malfunction and one of these days, someone will get hurt with the extra long distances from a sled malfunction or chain break or hitch break or something. That is why these extra long distances need to be reined in.

Here is another pull that just happened with an old sled that malfunctioned and just ruined a pasture fence.
One of these days it will be a lot worse!!!! No need for the nonsense. Like I said above, I do like to see a long pull once in a great while. Would a puller rather see their tractor need a few more repairs or pay repairs to a family for injuring or killing their loved one????? The pullin

I think this might be the thread cpr mentioned:
I know this was a discussion topic well before that as well, I did lose quite a few years worth of threads because of a website crash as well as changing formats/programs for the forum and I was unable to archive the old forum software. I'm not sure of the exact year but we've been talking about this for a while.

Changing from 350 to 320 is an excellent idea
320 and on heat becomes a major issue on engine parts and longevity
300 to 320 sled settings are a great show
I agree with Alkyfan. Spectators want to see pullers in pulloffs. A lot of tracks are struggling to keep safety in mind with these long pulls. What happens when more tractors or trucks have the chain or hitch break at the end

The sleds should be set heavier for this as well like the old sleds. The new ones, early in the pass, if the vehicle gets too much momentum starting out and then gets out of control, if the driver of the pulling vehicle backs out of it quickly or the sled operator pulls the shutdown, the sleds speeds up and rear ends and pushes the pulling vehicle. That could result in a very bad situation.

What the heck does it mean when they say that we going to run a 350 float or a 330 float? Why don't they just say that the track is 350 feet long, anyone past that will come back for a pulloff.
Put the full pull distance back at 300 feet and quit "floating" a finish!!!!! To all competitors that don't want that, put your money where your mouth is and make sure your equi

The European teams run as hard and even harder in certain classes and tractors. They almost always come back for the pullout it seems. Don't see too many results of broke for the pulloff.
If it is a problem for heat, then run the next class and bring them back after that class for the pullout. If it is the last class then something different needs to be done. But the pulloff should happen!

EFI should be allowed on spark engines and so should common rail injection on the diesel engines. It is available on factory new equipment in all cases. If factory is good, it should be here as well.

Just use a couple simple heavy duty push button switches. Mount them to whatever you make to be closely to the shift linkage. Run the ignition wire through the circuits up to the starter. Gear shift linkage in neutral in order for power to go through push button switches and give power to crank engine.

510 is probably best. Sick and tired or red/green at 466. Let someone try with a 504 Case, 505 Cummins, 510 Perkins and other combinations. All those red and green guys continually bashing other brands. Or if you want it 466 then allow exceptions for those other engine combinations. It gets done all the time in automotive competitions. Lets others play in the sandbox also.

I would rather see newer tractors pull with common rail injection, etc. The newest i have seen of actual tractors are a Case 2290, John Deere 4455 (Mexican edition so it still has a synchro)and ford tw series in open classes. Yes I have seen CaseIH mx magnums, John Deere 8r series and New Holland TG series pull in out of the field classes.
I hate it when tractors don't follow the engine an

Was just told by another promoter of another farm show, that NFMS has no big name vendors this year like JD, CIH, NH. The big companies won't let their employees go. Same thing for the DM Power Farming Show coming up. In that case, the Custom Harvesting show has asked some vendors to leave their equipment their to fill in space.
So if that is true and with that being said, I would guess it

Quotenew trend?
Lot of clubs never had a single event for the whole year.
At least a few good organizations had a respectable season considering all the CV19 regulations.
And kudos to the individuals that are normally not a promoter, but stepped up and promoted & hosted a pulling event. Many were non sanctioned.
Do you surmise this may start on new trend?

Heard they cancelled the outlaw pull for tomorrow due to rain. Looked on their website and also Outlaws, but nothing official yet. Anyone know for sure with proof in writing? Don't want to drive 3 & 1/2 hours to not have a pull, but also don't want to stay home and miss it.

Best overall pull.....Farley then Mound City, then Rockwell, then Rock Valley.
Best track and track crew.....Rock Valley, then Mound City, then Rockwell, then Farley.
2 skid steer track loaders at finish was too much in Farley. Need one at start and one at finish. Get the roller packers moving sooner and faster. Rock Valley has this perfect!!!! Mo
